I'm just saying Shin Megami Tensei demons might be a separate thing within all the established aspects of these games. They aren't mutually exclusive concepts. Didn't Persona 2 have demons already anyway?
Sure, but the thing is that Persona 2 is a different entity and it wasn't made by the same team as the one we have now. Hashino, Meguro and the others didn't work on it, so they've distanced themselves from it out of respect for the old developers -- They've kept things like Igor and the Velvet Room in tact, in order to still keep it as "Persona -- Although he was mostly superficial in the previous games, and they've build on that, build on the high school setting and taken it in a different direction.
