Does he mean the sequence with the eyes? Because that one was always awesome! :I
Oh he litterally means the sound effect.. well that's probably nothing major.

"Persona doesn't need Social Links to be Persona."
"Yeah, right. It's the single biggest difference between Persona 3&4 and all other MegaTen games, it's a unique feature not found in any other game of the main series.
Why would you get rid of a feature that heavily increased the popularity and success of the series?
If you don't like it, don't play it.
People like you are so annoying. How would you like it if I were to go to the comment sections of e.g. the newest SMT game and posted stuff like "Eh, get rid of Demon negotiations", "I want human party members" "How about a high school setting?" "Maybe they should add a calender and some social link elements to it?"
The salt is real in that second post.
What gave him the impression that high school still wouldn't factor into it? Thought the trailer made that clear and the calendar still seem to be present with the date showing in the upper left corner. They are acting as if social links are no more and I don't think that's the case. I've already said why I think they are important to Persona, so I also believe that of course they are still gonna be there but they are most likely gonna be a bit different now. I suppose it could be both good or bad, but I just hope it's an improvement of what came before and not completely different.
As for the complaint about wanting more human party members -- I'm certain that'll be the case, P3 had a dog and a robot, 4 had Teddie.. It's not a new thing to Persona having non-human party members, but I still find that cat quite weird, maybe it'll make sense when one plays the game -- I just hope he's not another Teddie as I really would love something different. I do prefer human party members as well, but Teddie was actually quite likeable in Persona 4 until the spin-offs arrived, so there's that.
Sandmen and Pyro Jack you face are actually docile Personas or Shadows, I knew it.

Sound Change
The previously mentioned sound change (“The sound characters make when summoning Personas is no longer a ‘ka!’ but rather a ‘buchi!'”) applies to cut-ins in general, not just Persona summons.

Yeah I only wanted to punch Ted in the face when Q came along and butchered him beyond belief. I find it ironic that the animal character is a CAT burglar this time. Get it? No? I'll be here all week.
And this is kind of funny:

I also wonder if the Tarot Cards/The Arcana will factor into the Persona summoning and fusion.. will it be replaced? Have they decided to categorize the Personas between the 7 Deadly Sins instead or are they still present in the game? Is the protagonist also a Wild Card or is he different? Hmm.
- Working with sympathizers around town (the original Japanese literally uses “cooperation” like in the menu) is advantageous in some way for combat.
- Social Link-esque features will be discussed later, but will have new twists while still serving to power things up.
Oh do like the sound of that. Working with a few people to have some advantageous effect sounds good. Will be looking forward to what the end up being.
And of course.. patience! They got my attention regarding social link changes so hopefully they don't take too long to discuss what they aim for.
Yes, it would be nice if we could find out how different they are, very soon, since it's kinda become a thing with Persona now.. I'm going to assume the news for Persona 5 will function a lot like it did with Ultimax near its release as well. We might get tidbits of new info with every issue, so stay tuned every week for news. I'll most likely post whatever I'll find here and others are of course welcome to contribute as well. Helps keep us updated ofc.

I'll leave most of that work to you senpai

So those "demons" were shadows? Yippee, we get to keep the "shadow" theme as well as get varied enemy designs this time around.

The enemies were always varied in their design but now we are fighting Personas as well, not sure why yet.. It's gonna be cool to see them fully rendered now though. It was also surreal to see fully rendered Yukiko, Naoto and the others in the Dance All Night trailers.

I guess "More varied" would be correct. As much as I think Persona 4 improved on it, seeing the xth variation of a maya/hablerie really got boring after a while, at least for me.
Not to say it wasn't varied or didn't have interesting designs, though.

There were enough different shadows to label the enemy design as varied.. now it'll just add Personas to the bunch as well. Although the most engaging were always the bosses, in Persona 4's case it was the Shadow Selves I think. We still don't know what the deal is with the docile Personas though.

During the weapon's store scene in the trailer when the menu lets you choose a character to view equipment, the dog tag of the MC says JOKER, with Fool in smaller lettering beside it. If that refers to the Persona the MC has equpped along with the regular Fool designation for MCs then I'd say the tarot meanings are probably still around.

So we are getting DC persona's now? ![]()
Why are we attacking docile personas? ![]()
It's like the sheep in Nier all over again.
Yes, some of the lectures will revolve around upcoming exams questions.. it's a good thing to at least note certain things down as getting the best scores on exams will win approval with some social links, and Mitsuru will have some nifty rewards on the ready. Getting the answers correct will also raise your Charm, which incidentally functions as the key to unlocking other social links.. particularly with Yukari. It's about scheduling, making sure you boost your social stats up quickly, while also climbing as much of Tartarus as you can consistently. The game carries a unique gameplay mechanic which I spend a long while picking apart and analysing. I wrote some stuff on a few pages earlier, though they have spoilers, so feel free to read it whenever you finish the game. The important thing now is .. keep boosting your social links, keep making new social links, to help boosting your Personas as well, along with your fusions and thus you'll do better in Tartarus and in certain story events. Most importantly. Enjoy the game, it's excellent.
Noted, appreciate the heads up.
And yes, will definitely look over any analyses you've made. Considering the gameplay concept and how it is integrated to the narrative, it will certainly be interesting to hear viewpoints on several aspects you guys have made.
Most likely the very unique personas will never be fought in combat, unless they appear as bosses. Like you won't run into Lucifer as a random encounter.

Lol I can imagine players almost crapping themselves if they just see Lucifer roaming in a dungeon. Nocturne was enough of a headache to never want to fight him if I can help it.
I look forward to summon Ali Baba and his 40 thieves.

SMTIV Beelzebub confirmed for random encounters. ![]()
Little bit of news. Not much but it's something.

Yeah it was a mechanic in the first game but it was badly done, good to see tthe new team tackling it again.
