That's not a good example. There's a mental and physical stimulation in Catherine you don't get in rhythm games. That's what this is right? Like Guitar Hero 3 on a controller? Or DDR? I don't find timed button presses to music all that interesting.
The example is sound -- I don't find puzzle platformers to be all that engaging, ala Portal 1, but Atlus made me care about Catherine and the puzzle platformer genre.
Not that the game is going to play anything like Guitar Hero, but Guitar Hero does require plenty of mental concentration as well as physical as much as say.. any action game by Platinum.

Actually, the announcement of Akira Yamaoka's involvement, along with Nobihiko (Sons of Liberty Soundtrack) is what made me consider it immediately. The thought about Catherine placed some feelings into perspective as well.

Where as I am not that secretive about it.
.
And you're terrible for that. At least hide your blasphemous feeling about Naoto being best girl.
Katsura Hashino being inspired by Lynch's Mulholland Drive for the development of Persona 3 & 4? Knew i liked him for a reason.

It's not blasphemy when it's true.

The truth is often considered blasphemous. Just ask Galileo.

I was wondering how Atlus was going to handle the gameplay. Sounds a teensy bit like Samba De Amigo turned competitive. It'll be the first dancing simulator I know of that tries to handle a worthwhile Storyline, so there's that. Never played Catherine, can't say much on that end.
Ah, you should.

All thats missing are the mario kart sounds ![]()
Needs more Hanako, best girl.
Fecking cat, I can hear it now...
Ryuuji: "Nobody noticed Morgana, right?"
Morgana, jumping out of bag : "Don't worry about it, the cat," Stares into Ryuuji's eyes, "was in the bag."
I wonder how many forms she can shapeshift into?
Hopefully as many as Teddie at least (ball, flat, random guy). She'll probably get all the cool mascot character swag.
Hell, now that I think about it if there's a H!Morgana I want a redux of the cultural festival with Morgana dressing as a dude. Suddenly P5-kun has competition for the bstgrls.
So long as the cat doesn't become Teddie 2.0.
I hope she'll be more like Mao from Darker than black.
They could go the 'Tales of...' route and just make the mascot character a normal character in all respects aside from the fact it's cute. So like Repede from Vesperia, or Milla from ToX, or Milla A or B from ToX2.

Lol wtf
It should also be noted how in the last teaser before the one in February, there was a shot of a brunette girl walking past the protagonist. The reason why she's intereting is because she stands out from all the faceless drone-populace walking around. Her design is distinct. I'll see if I can't find a shot of her some time later, but it's possible she might be another party member.
I really wish we could have done without these whacky non-human characters with Persona 5, though I suppose the whole thing being a cat makes sense in accordance with the thievery gentlemen-esque theme. There's potential for this character to actually be somewhat engaging too even if this mascot thing is getting tiresome.
Just watch her getting voiced by Grey Delisle.
And then Kevin Conroy does the combat grunts for the protagonist LOL

To be fair we don't even know if it will be all that wacky.

It certainly looks whacky, which is common with most of the non-human characters of previous games. Note that I said there's potential for it to go both ways, but I ultimately wish we could have just done away with it entirely.
