I was wondering when a Persona 5 thread would pop up. I'm a pretty new Persona fan, I finished P4G about a month ago, and I'm making my way through P3P. I owned P4 Arena before then because I love Arc Sys fightning games, though I am pretty average at them.
I'm definitely looking forward to this.
Shame on you for not playing Persona 3 FES instead of Portable. :I
Only interested in P5. Screw dancing games and overly chibi characters
(just my tastes)
And I hope P5 is closer to a mash of P2/P3. P4 was alright, don't get me wrong, and I liked a lot of the stuff it was going for, but I'm ready for a darker tone again.

I've actually played about 10 hours into FES, but I no longer have the time to sit PS3 for hours without bothering others, so I decided to get P3P. And to change things up after beating P4G, I decided to play PINK MODE! I'm actually really enjoying it, and its definitely one of my favorite implementations of a female protagonist.
I'll probably get to FES eventually. I wonder what type of protagonist will be in P5. You think they'll do the male/female thing again?

The thing is that Portable is a bad way to get into Persona 3 for the first time because the story presentation is positively weaker without the 3D environment. It is, no question. But the female protagonist is definitely fun. I'd actually like a female protagonist for the next game, or at the very least, the option for either or.

Ugh, the combat really soured the experience for me. Granted, it was a little amusing getting tons of social links and overpowering my persona to the point where I could solo bosses and not care about what my teammates did.
I'd also take the FeMC over the male one any day.

Really? Personally I didn't think the combat was bad at all -- I think it's easy to think that Portable is better because it has Persona 4's combat despite that the combat hadn't changed much. Persona 3 FES was a lot more difficult though. I think the difficulty was definitely higher. The overall story presentation is just a lot better in my opinion despite the absence of the female protagonist, whom is definitely more interesting.

Man, talk about no love for dancing games. Watching Narukami dance alone should be worth the price of admission lol. Just look at the trailer, its amazing.

You in that EU territory? It didn't take that long for y'all to get Persona 4 Arena though.

Good myn, but buy an old PS2 or PSP so you can buy Persona 3.

Thinking we might get it in 2017 almost feel a bit optimistic. 2020 feel quite safe and i do prefer getting suprised. No expectations is the best!
