Persona 4 is definitely one of those games I wouldn't get a good first impression of by watching.

I remember when I was introduced to it. A friend gave it as a gift so I felt obliged to play it. I knew literally nothing about it save that its predecessor involved suicide or something. It's one of the reasons why it was so refreshing.

What's funny is that I had no idea it took place in Japan so I had to stick with a English name for the entire game.

Definitely.

Sorry to say but I don't think you can make a rational judgement by watching a walkthrough on Youtube. I told you that. Believe me because I did that once too.

Yep, and it isn't by choice. I still have a PS3 lying around, so Persona 5 may be the only available entry point. My impression is only that - an impression. ¯\(°_o)/¯ As it was only 2 hours in, I probably haven't gotten far enough to say much in terms of the storyline/themes.

Persona 4 should be available on PSN for you. It should be on European and North American alike so that doesn't seem right.

The only Persona PS2 title available on the Oz PSN is 3FES so I assume that's the case for Europe as well.

It's not on Europe PSN. At least not since the last time I checked.

Very much this! Watching P4 on youtube will really not to anything in the game justice. It more or less shed the worst light possible.

Got the game myself after hearing several people i trust say that they really enjoyed it and thought "Why not?" and got it. Refreshing is probably one of the best words that i can describe it with. Hadn't played anything like that before which really was awesome

Does Ultimax occur right after Arena finishes? So, still before Golden's epilogue?

It's just that the timeline is all wonky in my head, haha.

Yes. It literally takes place a day or two after arena.

This is the timeline

Persona 2 Innocent Sin

Persona 2 Eternal Punishment

10 years later

Persona 3

March 31st

The Answer

two years later

Persona 4

Golden week after the true ending(which is in May)

Arena

Ultimax

Summer time

Golden epilogue

Thanks!

So the P3MC had Death sealed inside him around the same time that EP was taking place?

It depends when the port island incident happened, because Persona 1 and 2 don't list exact dates like Persona 3 and 4 do, we just have a year to go by. and we don't know when EP ends in that year.

Since Persona 1 and 2 are included in that timeline, are there any references to it later in the series besides Innocent Sin Online?

The Kirijo Group broke away from the Nanjo Group, one of the characters from Persona 1 & 2, was son of the highest ranking CEO of that corporation. Just like Mitsuru.

There we go. I knew there was some connection at least it acknowledges that the other games actually happened.

Eternal Punishment did not even happen in the world of Persona 3 & 4, neither did 1 or Innocent Sin. The ending effectively explains this.

I noticed in the tutorial phase of P4G that you can nullify your weakness if you're defending/guarding. Could you do that in Persona 3, or any of the other Persona games?
