Eternal Punishment did not even happen in the world of Persona 3 & 4, neither did 1 or Innocent Sin. The ending effectively explains this.
Uh yes it did. EPs ending and it's timeline is the one used now. This is confirmed in all the Triss interviews in P3 where every single comment is about the character development that happens in EP. Tat wanting to become a detective happens right at the end of EP and thus confirms EPs timeline is the current one, IS is a dead timeline for clear reasons, EP is not because Maya and her group where able to stop Nyarl from doing the same actions of what happen in the end of IS.
Persona events also happen because they are not erased(they where never part of Philemons deal). No new timeline was made at the end of P3 either as all that happen was the memories of the dark hour where erased because they removed the dark hour but they where then recovered on graduation day, but the events that happen in P3 still happened. Had a new timeline been made all characters that died would have been alive and the memories of the Nyx cult would be gone.

Right, and the events of Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment effectively did not happen -- They were erased.Uh yes it did. EPs ending and it's timeline is the one used now.
This is also reflected in Persona 3 & 4's decision to move in a new direction, with new world lore that is closer to the philosophy of Jung, and moves further away from the mother series, Shin Megami Tensei.

It makes sense though for the IT team, Adachi was in prison though. I highly doubt they kept his detective suit just lying around unless Dojima decided to leave it there for Adachi.

Why does it make sense for them to wear the exact same clothing almost everyday? That doesn't make sense. It just to keep their iconic look, unlike Dragon Age 2, this game doesn't preach about 'time passing' for the Persona 4 cast in the same way of how time apparently passes over 10 years in DA2. Not much time has passed from Persona 4 to Arena. It makes sense though for the IT team, Adachi was in prison though. I highly doubt they kept his detective suit just lying around unless Dojima decided to leave it there for Adachi.
It's a stupid and pointless thing to wonder about, Josh.

In Portable evidently, given the option of "guard" has been added in there.
This is true, you can guard/defend in P3P. But does it nullify your weakness like in P4G? I'm wondering if that's something new to the series.

That's what we were asssuming before, but evidently it might as well not have been canon. The P3 MC is sick during the culture festival, which doesn't seem to be the case in Persona 3 I guess. It's better to look at this way. In theShin Megami Tensei universe, Atlus has said that almost anything is canon, and you shouldn't throw the word around too much. It won't affect Persona 5 much as I imagine, and in general, it won't matter.Probably mind wipes.

I really hope P5 is not going to be "save Minato" bullocks. I won't even bother buying it, I want a new story for a main game. Cameos and connections are one thing, but doing stuff that some fans have asked to be the story of P5, just ugh.

If the plot involves saving Minako from the supernatural Closet of Irrelevance Atlus has her tied up in, I'm game.

Personally I'd eat Junpei (hurr, hurr) since I'm not big on Japanese food but Akihiko looks pretty good.
