In all fairness, when listening to the Persona 4 Ultimax teaser, her screams of pain sounded exactly like how they did in Arena. I'm hoping it's the same voice actress, only she's been confirmed now... hopefully.

I doubt it. The vibe I got from her tweet and from Erin's tweet is that she's new to the role. 

 

I'm looking forward to hearing her in any case. Even if I grew rather fond of Naoto's old VA.

And taking Erin's words lightly would be a mistake unless she straight out said she isn't the old voice actress.
She could be trying not to break the contract of revealing the old actress' name and credit. The situation reminds me of Suzetta Minet who voiced EVA in Snake Eater, sounding exactly like Debi Mae West.

Yeah, things are a bit murky. The 'new' VA does make the distinction of saying that she voices Naoto in P4Q and P4U on her Twitter page though.

But, evidently, she can't say she was in Arena & Golden/4 given the contract issues. So, it could just as well be her but I don't know yet. I hope she sounds good, because Naoto is my giiirl.

If it is the same person, I wonder why there would be contract issues. I know Naoto's VA has remained an enigma for years and she's really the only one in the cast that has.

 

I can't recall if Atlus credits their VAs? 

 

If not, I would wager that she's with the Union and would have taken work under pseudonym or with the assurance that her identity wouldn't be revealed.

Well they obviously didn't with Naoto in previous Persona games. Maybe she's left her union or another explanation is out there. The way she worded her first tweet with announcing the voice actress could be interpreted as a way of finally being able to reveal a voice actress for Naoto -- Regardless, it's just for a fighting game and it's not like Atlus is gonna remake Persona 4 again. Hopefully her voice will be good but I will always love the original. From what I've heard of the trailer above, she doesn't sound different from Arena.

j/k, but yeah, Twitch Persona chat is always way too congested and foolish to participate in. Interesting to watch, though. I like the look of Ultimax so far. I hope it's online community lasts longer this time around, because I don't think I'll be getting it at launch.

Margaret & Theodore will no longer be voiced by Michelle Ann Dunphy & Travis Willingham. Sad news.

I'm not attached to Theo but Willingham is a solid VA and I grew to like Margaret's tone. 

 

Ah well, I guess Q and 4U will be the last we'll see of that cast anyway.

As much as I do make fun of Margret being boring, Michelle's soothing, polite and almost motherly sounding voice worked very well and Travis not doing Theo? Ughhhhh that would be like replacing Tara as Liz. Travis's Theo voice was outstanding and just made the character so much better.
