I don't know. Other M was a big risk and it did not pay off at all, Nintendo probaly wishes they just waited for Retro Studios to finish Donkey Kong then return to Metroid.

But then you have Yoshi's New Island and A Link Between Worlds which are mostly nostalgic callbacks to their respective SNES games.

I thinks that's where Nintendo's mindset is most. And it's annoying. As much I enjoyed playing various incarnations of their household IPs it gets tiring when most of their big games is just that. After all these years Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, and Pokemon are still the games people have to look forward to at Nintendo.

They'll never get anymore serious IPs or branch out more with last gen consoles and fairy dust. I honestly don't expect more from them.

Probably right there. I'll have to settle for the 3DS' pretty good third and first party variety. The Wii U is probably dead beyond those few Nintendo staples this gen. And Nintendo is definitely still holding on way too tight to that kiddy reputation across both of their current platforms. They don't try catering to a general demographic like PlayStation or Xbox. It's more like nostalgia/kids first then everyone else.

Bayonetta 2 must be a dream then.

Yes, because one IP out of dozens of Mario spin-offs that involve humor of the lowest base means that the WiiU is #edgy.

You said they won't get any serious IPs. You stated a false claim.

To be fair he made the claim on April 28th, 2014, after Bayonetta 2 was announced to come out.

1. You knew what I meant. We can nitpick at my wording which I'm sure pretty much everyone knew as a term of phrasing that is very common in the English language, so it certainly did not need explaining.

2. They already had that, so what was your point? Unless they gained that seconds after my posting, which they didn't, NIntendo hasn't gained anything.

3. What is a false claim in this sense? There is no such thing. Because you know, nitpicking, the definition of the word claim means it doesn't have to have any basis in anything.

I don't mind that the only things I expect out of Nintendo are its usual iconic franchises (and Fire Emblem). It's just that they are getting complacent and not really executing them with creativity. At their best, they keep the essence of what made their games great while adding to them. Compare the leap ALttP made to ALBW, for example.

With the unique exception of Wind Waker, Nintendo has basically been re-releasing Ocarina of Time ever since, although admittedly I enjoyed Majora's Mask because it provided a darker and more mature tone to the franchise. They have to be congratulated for at least sticking to making games, and not elaborate cable-TV boxes.

But anyway, this is getting off-topic, gents. Start a Nintendo thread if you want to continue this discussion :)

Will post a link to a livestream should I find one. Me & Josh watched the last one where P5 was announced, while the streamer would play Meguro tracks in the background - T'was fun.

Well, it all makes sense -- Yu is voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch a former Power Ranger.

If Yu says feather change and starts wearing a black feather outfit, I'm going to lose it.

You can get the Featherman Alternate Costumes in Golden, which is just awesome - Loved the Yasogami Outfits, where the P4 cast would quote and imitate the P3 victory moves.

I just had Yu, Naoto, Chie and Yuki run around in their swimsuits, because I could.

/well not all the time, just when I was bored during grinding.

Michelle Ruff needs to say, "It's Morphin Time!" at some point during the game whenever this gets dubbed.

What is it that Power Rangers usually say when they are about put on their suits by tapping their ulter-dimensional-watches again? Is it morphin time? If so, she needs to do it in that particular scene as showcased in the trailer above. Brilliant.
