I always watch the OP  when I play Innocent Sin, Eternal Punishment , P3P and base P4s(when I played it). I always skip Goldens OP.

 

There's a reason, it's because it sucks and does not fit the game.

Where am I saying your opinion is invalid? All I'm saying is that I personally think you're nitpicking on something.

 

Had this song taken place during a boss battle then I wouldn't have said the same thing. I personally rarely care about wether an OP fits or not, so in my eyes it seemed like nitpicking, 

 

If you view that as shittin on youre opinion and disrespecting it then thats all up to you. But I certainly didn't mean it that way. 

 

And that's also were I'm ending it because this is clearly not going anywhere and I don't care enough about this discussion to actually continue bothering with it.

But see now you're backing away from your previous claim -- You didn't specifically say that my opinion was invalid, no, but you are heavily implying it when you say things like "lots of people don't care". When you say things like that you're essentially saying that my opinion is not credible to put it mildly, because the majority "inside your head" would argue to the contrary -- The opening and its song is as much a part of the game as anything else. I have already said that a ton of times. I don't care if you don't care about the opening -- But when you start to market your claims as universal truths 

on baseless presumptuous arguments then you've lost me.

It's very reasonable, in a series known for it's great OPs, for me to skip one always means Atlus did mess up. This is not a new game, Golden is a enhanced port, that does not mean the game loses it's themes or meanings, something Pursuing My True Self got. Shadow World does not get it thus it fails at a OP. Had Golden been a deconstruction then Goldens oP would work.

That's up to you -- You didn't even provide anything to back up your claim in the first place so if you wanted to actually try then you would have probably done it already.

What's there to proof? You want a heavily detailed list of every person that doesn't listen to an OP? You and I both know there would be plenty of people that wouldn't bother with OP's.

I'd like a valid argument that isn't just "lots of people don't care". Says who?... You? Well, lots of people don't care about American Football either.. says who? Says I of course.

 

What is that we both know? There you go again with these futile base-less presumptions of yours. Do not presume to know that people universally share your opinion, because it makes you come off as a troll with no validity to his claims. The site I showcased had a wide mixture of opinions, but it also had an entire news article dedicated to the opening of Persona 4 Golden -- What was that part about the opening not really meaning anything to lots of people again btw?

 

If openings to games didn't matter then they wouldn't really exist in the first place, now would they? And they certainly wouldn't be used for marketing in terms of trying to sell the game or provide insight to the experience you're about to enter -- No, perish the thought. It's not like BioWare does this either... oh wait.

Perish the thought for asking for any source or claims to back up other claims. That's not how the world works at all, am I right?

Sorry, that you feel that way, Milan, but I simply cannot have a discussion with you if you do not seek to engage it with valid counterpoints at all, and instead choose to belittle the opposite party's claims, where I have even provided a source for it.

Anyway, I generally tend to skip openings at first if only because I don't want to be spoiled on who the characters are. Obviously this wouldn't have been a problem with Golden but the chipper tone was a bit off-putting at first and I ended up skipping it anyway. Openings don't really do much for me. I'll go back and sit through it maybe once or twice after finishing the game or progressing relatively far in it but I'm mostly mashing away the START button until I get to the title screen. 

 

I want news of P5 but then I don't want news, haha. Want to go in with as little impressions as possible and without knowing who's gonna be on my team. It was a nice feeling to think that maybe Saki would join the group in P4 before, you know.

I agree. I'm mainly waiting for a release date.  I don't intend on following any news about it.  Going in blind is always fun, it led to some great moments in P4G.

Yeah i'm also just waiting for P5 news, once i'm kinda set with a decent release date i'm not that interested in knowing that much more about the title. Golden was one of the few titles i went in almost completely blind and got some rather memorable moments out off

Base P3 or FES? Because FES opening spoils WAY too much.
