Can absolutely agree that most of the 2nd version Personas that the team had looked rather silly and just not nearly as awesome as the first one. Yukiko went from the rather great looking Konohana Sakuya to Amaterasu who do look fancy but really is a large downgrade. Chie might be the one exception where i feel she might've gained something.

Milan is on the money here -- It is basically an aesthetic choice, in the same sense of why Adachi is still wearing his suit, same with Yu wearing his Yasogami uniform etc.

Block mechanic in Arena is frickin stupid -- The control layout is just a clusterfuck. It's almost always impossible to block Narukami's cheap BS moves, because of it, blergh.

This is why the block button should be a button press like in smash bros instead of a stick combo. Arc has to realize that when you port over a arcade fighting game, not everyone has a fighting stick so they should also make the layout work for a controller. Smash bros as a console only fighting game does not havet his issue so the button layout is very comfortable and well.
It's my beef with Blazeblue, Guilty Gear and Arena, love them but I don't feel like being punished because I don't have a fighting stick. SF4 was the worse because it's command list only listed the fight stick combos(at least at launch, could have changed in a patch), least Arc has the decency to show controller input for commands.

Right! THey might as well have made the triggers be the block buttons since they aren't really used for anything instead of making several buttons be applied for several different things.

Isn't Naotos shield of justice also mapped to L1/R1? I know that move is a button press, not a stick combo. So ya, why they didn't do that for everyone will baffle me.

Because then, it wouldn't be as "deep" as other big name fighters, according to tournaments. Mortal Kombat notwithstanding.
Filthy plebs.

Smash bros(mostly melee or Brawl w/project M) is popular for tourneys and such though.

Now I hope the ultimate boss in Persona 5 is against Alph, Demi-Fiend and Nocturne Bleezebub at the same time, just to hear your rage.

Given the fact that Tokyo Game Show has never been a place for Atlus announcing their games in the past, nor has it for any major JRPG developer or anything remotely related to Japanese gaming in years, I'm not holding my breath. Tokyo Game Show is a shell of its former self. It could happen, sure, but there's plenty of opportunity for it disappointment. It wouldn't be the first time.

Based on what? Because it's a Japanese convention? Square hasn't announced any of their major titles at TGS in years -- Kingdom Hearts 3 and the next FF were at E3. Namco has mostly used magazines like Weekly Shounen Jump to announce the recent Tales games. Atlus has never announced their titles at TGS ever. It's been through their own sources, like Hashino himself, or magazines like Famitsu, where their titles like Catherine, Persona or SMT have all been announced previously

Based on game sites that I follow and have visited the TGS a few times.
Now I admit that I'm not too familiar with the whole TGS, but why not just annouce or show stuff there. Its called GAME show for a reason, right?

Well, then I imagine you haven't been following it for a while because JRPGs are lacking in numbers of being announced at TGS, Atlus games notwithstanding. They've always announced their games through their own channels, shown them there as well -- You have to remember that Atlus is still niche, selling niche titles for niche audiences, thus they don't use big fancy conventions for their stuff like Square.
As you can plainly see with last year's announcement of 3 Persona titles through their own channel. That's how they do it.
They are gonna show something of Persona 5 'when it's ready to be shown' is most likely the best mindset to approach this whole thing -- counting on it being actually shown at TGS is doubtful. At best, there'll be some Metal Gear stuff like last year, something from Platinum, then maybe a few Konami published titles etc.

Dungeon puzzles are usually sheite because their workaround is derived from adventure game logic, which just adds unnecessary confusion and annoyance to the overall gameplay.
If that bullocks is what interests certain players then there are certainly gonna find that in plenty of other games. I don't need that nonsense in dungeons when it comes to Persona. It's fine with more intrigate interior designs and optional paths to take for rare treasure -- I know for a fact that Vesperia had that in its dungeons which is fine with me.

Or we could also have something that isn't anything like that shite above. That would be preferrable.

I'd rather they just stick with the P4 dungeon designs.
The main aspect of the Persona games aren't about walking and fighting through those dungeons. This is not Zelda.
