Yeah, I'm taking solace in the fact that this will be the last game with these characters I'm playing before Persona 5.
Time to move on, as that one song goes from the Golden Animation- cha-******!

I don't know if it's just me but NewNaoto talks very fast.
Don't even want to start with Igor and Margaret.

Eh, it makes sense why she's talking fast in that scene considering what is going on there.

The anime is terrible - Just play the games. I'm going to repost some of my earlier analysis' of the game's complexity in terms of its subject matter, themes and relationship between the time-scheduled gameplay and the underlying messages -- I can elaborate on that later if you wanna know my thoughts on it all. For now, here are some general praise on the enhanced golden edition of Persona 4.

Thanks for the heads up. And I do love reading stuff like what you mentiones. Would certainly love to read what you have to say on the games, if you find the time.

Saw the first Naoto vs Adachi match. Naoto just can't compete with his gun skills, she needs to go back to target practice.

So I decided to write down my thoughts on certain things from Ultimax. Do note it will be spoilers so only read if you don't care about spoilers, just want to hear a rant or if you have nothing better to do.
PS: It also concerns Persona 5

I'm not afraid to admit, my hype for Persona 5? It dropped, big time.

Woah that sounds bad. I'm not clicking the spoiler but can you tell me what exactly went wrong without spoilers?

Sho will not be the Persona 5 protagonist -- Atlus has before inserted fake hints or files into the games to troll those pillocks who find it intriguing enough to spoil themselves of future surprises. We are giving Atlus way too little credit here. The whole reason why these spin-offs exist is to say goodbye to Persona 3 & 4 -- It is provide what the different sections of the fanbase wants. Hashino said so himself. Those who want more content with the P3 & P4 cast will be able to do so with Ultimax and Q, whereas the rest will get Persona 5 and then there is the dance game. It was a deliberately strategy they planned ahead to ensure that most people get what they want.
The fact that Persona 5 will probably take place in the same universe as Persona 3 & 4 is not really news in of itself -- We knew this already. Atlus has said before that all the games are essentially canon and it should be taken with massive amounts of salt. I'd advice to stop trying to embrace whatever trash the GameFags like to spread around. Your post is seemingly just a repeat of opinions that have been stated by twats on that forum and we don't need that in this thread.
Play Persona 5 and then make a judgement for yourself instead of listening to twats. It's a bit related to the post I made yesterday on the Last of Us or Destiny thread. I also thought I made it clear that I'd prefer if nobody would post any spoilers in this thread even if you do tag 'em.

Most of his rant is just disappointment on the story of Utlimax, which is something I suppose is possible. I said so myself. But however the game might turn out it isn't relevant in any way to the potential quality of Persona 5. Hashino's team is different and judging from their latest game, Catherine, they still got it going.

The recurring pattern of the Persona protagonist is related to the symbolic meaning of The Fool arcana. P3 and P4 MC's came as blank slates without memories (with no real prior established backgrounds, only a bit that was slowly revealed later, in somewhat similar fashion to that of KOTOR2). No bonds, no friends, no nothing. This is consistent with the way Igor described the Wild Card ability, "Empty, but with limitless possibilities." Sho would already have memories and know people, thus would have already formed bonds and so he wouldn't fit the idea. It isn't really any more difficult to understand than that. You're making rash pressumptions which is unrelated to Persona 5. Persona 4 Ultimax is the conclusion to Persona 3 & 4. If Sho is going to show up again then it'll be as a cameo, a mention, or something else. He is not the protagonist.

I'm not disappointed in the story. In fact there is alot of things I liked about it, even after the fiasco with who ME is, the things that happen afterwards where very well done.
What I am disappointed is Hashino did something very lazy with one thing and how there is too many things that are too important left unanswered, along with a file name which I doubt is really them joking considering something very important tothe plot is not hidden with a goofy filename. If Persona 5 turns out to be something fresh with little connections to Ultimaxs story and it's a NEW story, I will be very happy. Right now though? I can't bring my self to have that hope.

He didn't develop the Arena series.
The data miner who leaked almost all of Ultimax found out that internal data within Ultimax calls Sho "P5HERO", which leads to the following possibilities:
#1 - The data miner is trolling the fanbase. As far as I know, noone else bothered to look for that particular file, so this might still be a thing. (Why are you trusting the word of some unknown anomaly on the internet? That's irrational thinking)
#2 - Atlus is trolling the fanbase. I wouldn't put this beyond them after the livestream from last year. Also, hiding information that is not directed at the game itself but at potential hackers within the game's data was already done by Atlus before. There was a message within P4's data that hackers shouldn't spoil the killer's identity.

Honestly it would be best to take a wait and see approach. Ultimax just came out today there is so much we don't know and any information we get has a high likelihood of being wrong or worse made up.
#1798
Posté 30 août 2014 - 10:31
It is made up -- The fanbase are litterally getting themselves worked up over nothing but baseless presumptions due to their irrational 'hatred' of Atlus not talking about Persona 5 yet.

Then why not do that to the most important file name in the game, something people would look for and want to know? Better yet, if he was trolling, why not change that filename to something else which would ****** the fanbase alot more since this is something that was big. The outburst that has followed over this has shown this was something big so that would be something much better to change, no?

They actually did, but chose not to since it would probably get annoying to have that message appearing over and over again. This is the message in Persona 4.
Thank you for purchasing Persona 4.
Before you begin the game, we’d like to
ask you, the player, for a favor.
This game has several mystery-style
factors that involves finding the killer
behind a series of heinous murders.
Even if you yourself have any clues
about the criminal’s identity, please
keep them to yourself.
Your clues or theories may deprive
others of the fun of discovering the
story for themselves. Besides...
The truth you find...
...may not be the real truth.
He's doing this litterally to get people worked up -- Did you see that guy who spend all of that time making a fake Fallout 4 website, marketing stuff and banners? It was quite professionally done and quite an epic troll.
