good read and more justification/clarification on the heat-sink system (which i still don't like or think makes sense).

Right. And I read one thing online where you said love interests in the game are not recruitable for this mission. Why is that?

The Mass Effect 1 love interests aren't. So that's Liara, Kaiden and Ashley. They're in the story but they don't join the team for that reason. Some people are worried that we don't care about those characters, but it's actually the opposite. We care about them so much that we want to make sure they survive this suicide mission.

BS Mr. Hudson. It's quite clear that our love interests are captured by the collector's, something I called months ago. Obviously they would be safer with you on the Normandy. Very poor justification.

We look at it as making a PG-13 acition movie

Then why Subject Zero's constant swearing?

Would they have got collected had they been with Shepard?

shepard was MIA - they could be anywhere (and chance leads to them being in the wrong place at the wrong time). being on board the new normandy for a suicide mission is defnitiely not the safest place to be, though.

I'm assuming we get to meet wtih them before they get collected, otherwise I will be mightily pissed off.

And again, how can they be safer when there's a race of aliens randomly abducting humans rather than on the Normandy.  I know I wouldn't leave my love alone when there's a treat like that brewing.

Secondly, so what if it's a "suicide mission"?  Ashley, Kaidan and Liara have proven themselves as more than capable soldiers.  It's not like they're Charlie Chaplin and going to get stuck in a grate on the Normady and put your mission in jeopardy.  I would personally trust them above new crew member.

Thirdly, Shepard is just as likely to die as any member of this crew.  Surely you would want to spend as much time with your love as possible before the end?

Fourthly, if you fail it would matter eitheway, humanity is doomed and your LI is dead anyway.

Thanks for the link.

Good grief, now everybody seems to want to reference Avatar just about everywhere without reason, except maybe blue-skinned aliens. It's like, the latest, and most annoying fashion.

To be fair ME is a fairly relevant comparison what with the blue aliens and all.

They also won't have much screen time.

I think its all BS: They had technical problems because of all the choices (who died, who was romanced) and there were to many aspects to check, they couldnt do it and therefore they wrote them "out" and gave you new squaddies from nowhere along with characthers that couldnt die in ME1. BW cant just stand up and say it.
They say that Ash/Kaidan/Liara will be given a larger role in ME3, I will remember that and they better hold their promise.

Right if they end up with as much screen time as they would have had if they were companions,  I owe you a coke.

Ashley was seen on the normandy with you before it went kablewy. Then after that point when it looks like your dead and all hope is lost she gets abducted by the collectors.

The characterization of the love interests were kind of weak in the first one, so much so unless they have some pretty substantial involvement in ME2 they will be forgotten.

Only the human who survived the first one is going to be captured, and even that's not a sure thing. Liara is not IN a human colony so there should be no problem.
