To be fair, the OP stated his reasons for asking. I honestly don't think it matters whether my companions are white, black or purple but there are some people who care, or are just curious as to what their companions will look like. In the case of our OP this curiosity was mainly based upon the fact that he wondered what her skin tone would be like. No harm in that I'd say.
