I noticed it initially in the PAX gameplay video, and now again in the 'War Table' shot; Vivienne's staff looks a lot like Malcom's Honor from DA2.

 

I wonder if it's the same staff, or if they've just re-used the model?

 

Probably the latter, would be interesting though.

I'm going to feel so underdressed around Vivienne. I will be disappointed if the Inquisitor can't get similarly fabulous garments in DA:I.

I kind of want a Sir Walter Raleigh moment, not necessarily a romance thing (but i will be crushed if she's not an LI and it is my biggest fear)-- but you're travelling along and there's a puddle and you like lay down your cloak to cover her path. I think that would be hilarious/sweet, a nice historical reference, and deeply fitting for the character.

I wish I were more familiar with French actors since I want a French actor for her, but if Angela Bassett can do a decent French accent and wants to work on a videogame, I'd be beyond ecstatic.

Vivienne definitely didn't have a French accent in that one video where she talked.

 

A fair amount of people thought she sounded like Natasha Little but Gaider confirmed that it wasn't her doing the voice.

For Vivi, it isn't just damage dealing magic, it's fire.  I keep picturing fire every time I see her.  In any case, it makes more sense for her to "pew pew" than be a healer.  It does make me wonder who her foil is going to be (i.e Wynne and Morrigan, Anders and Merrill) but that's getting off topic.  I still can't believe that someone managed to make those silly fashions from Orlais look good.

Well, with a name like Madame de Fer, I'm guessing she probably has some character-unique metal magic going on.

So I was reading up on Orlais on the wiki and I just realized why Vivienne has the horns: masks in Orlais are worn for both purpose and sign of one's family by the nobility: a family associated with lions would have, yes, a lion mask.  The horns on Vivienne represent a dragon, I would think, given the power she has.
