Why would mage rebels be interested in restoring elf homeland? Or would they be welcome to live there with the elves? Or is it just the elf mage rebels?

We'd have common foes, and would hopefully be able to build a solid alliance on that.

Vivienne's loyal but more moderate approach does give me shades of Wynne. Ultimately, Wynne forsook the ties to the Chantry for family but was otherwise a staunch Circle supporter. Due to the nature of the conflict though, I imagine Vivienne will be more hard line. She'd probably slap Anders if she had the chance, haha.

I hope she lacks that annoying quality Wynne had of being unable to argue with her properly, with her just shutting you down as immature every time.

I imagine she'd be more the type to throw him to the ground and immobilize him, all with force magic, then she'd sistematically crush anders with her heels all the while saying:

"You've been a bad boy"

"Grovel some more, worm"

and then she'd...

Edit so big it's a rewrite:

@Night I'm glad I managed to finish my sip of coffee before I read that!

I think Irving would be considered pro-Circle, despite his conflicts with the Knight-Commander.  I see it as the Aequitarian position, basically

Aequitarians do seem to have a mediatory position because of how moderate they are. They can understand the viewpoints of all other groups more easily and that's why the First Enchanter is chosen from them. At least that's the impression I get.

Or the FE gig could be just because they're the most numerous. :P

This talk is just reminding me how bummed I was when I found out I couldn't join one of the Fraternities in Origins. I played the Mage Origin first and didn't realise that it would be a short prologue at the time. I was ready to get a proper taste of Hogwarts!

You should let Isabela take control of your account more often!

It depends on which character I play. My Dalish would be more interested in the restoration of the elven homeland and having the mage rebels as allies due to more-or-less aligning goals. My Vashoth... I'm not sure yet.

I doubt that mages and elves will be related to the same plot though.

Sadly possible, but I dearly hope we can meld them.

Hrm. Every time the whole "white Isabela" thing comes up, I'm always torn. Like, yes, the idea of people white washing her makes me gag but at the same time, I'm hardly innocent when it comes to headmorphs. After all, these are the male LIs in my games. I mean, does wanting what-I-consider-to-be-pretty boys in my DA make me a bad person? Probably

But anyway, as for Vivienne; I am super excited. Between that fierce as **** valentine, the full-on diva sass, and her perfection in the demo ("My dear, we've rendered them all expendable"), I predict full besties status. And I really hope she's involved in The Game. Mostly because I hope any of the companions are, and from what we know of them (which admittedly is next to nothing, but whatever...) she seems like the most likely candidate.

The problem, as I see it, is that melding the mage-templar plot with the Orlesian civil war plot would lead to an additional level of complexity to their plots. You have to account for the various possible outcomes in the alliances. Plus, the way I see it DAI will be similar to DAO, with different plots with no relationship with each other (expecially because we'll cover a large part of Thedas).

I mean, I don't even know hpw it'll be possible that there'll be various world-level changing outcomes in the OCW and the M-T war, considering the save imports.

You have to account for the various possible outcomes in the alliances. Plus, the way I see it DAI will be similar to DAO, with divided plots with no relationship with each other (expecially because we'll cover a large part of Thedas).

I'm hoping for a few more set outcomes to get around the save import problems, because I absolutely do not want to be left hanging on the elven homeland plot.

What do you mean with set outcomes? That the elves will always get the Dales as a outcome of the Orlesian Civil war?

Yes. To be considered univerally acceptable, it might not involve kicking Orlais' head in for it, but I can live with that. Retaking Arlathan would be even better.

I'd like to retake Arlathan as well. I'd say it's likely that Orlais's fate will be only one (we'll probably get to choice the ruler).

I'll stop now since I don't want to derail the thread. If you want to continue the discussion, you can send me a PM.

Oh, sh!t. The whacko Communist-esque liberal ideology that you follow makes you angry that other people modify a character in a game they purchased to their tastes. What's next, is interracial marriage going to be mandatory just like in Paraguay?

Fu£k off back to North Korea.

You do know that North Korea is pretty crazily racist, yes? Especially against black people.

I know my typing is probably wasted on you, but I'm honestly curious: what do you gain by this? Just a brief stab of attention? You're clearly not in it for the long haul.

Does anyone see anything?  All I see is a bunch of hot air that's best ignored.  Smells foul too, like sewage.

Getting back on topic, I think that Vivienne and Cassandra are probably going to butt heads.  I'm not sure about Vivienne, but I'm sure growing up in The Game has affected her some.  Whereas Cass reminds me of Aveline: A real Joe Friday type (by the book and "Just the facts, ma'am) that probably has a thick layer of emotional armor to go with the physical one.

@Xil Don't bother talking to the sewer gas illusion over there.  It isn't worth it.

Just put it on ignore and be done, CybAnt1. There's no point in indulging it, lol.

Vivienne would approve. At least, I hope she would. Well, there would probably be some immolation involved too.

Yes, we have an ignore function now ... good stuff. And I have my first test subject.

Grand. It works. No more seeing his bullcrap.

That should certainly be fun.

On a sidenote, if I'm a Vashoth, I kinda hope that I'll be able to have horns that can dwarf Vivienne's hat, as some sort of dominance thing.

Alas, my desire to analyze the psyches of those different from me is too strong.

I love the ignore function B) .

What do you guys think is Vivienne's confraternity? I'm conflicted between Aequitarians and Lucrosians.

I for one am more interested in Cassandra's "character depth" than in Vivienne's, because Cassandra seems to be in a much more interesting position regarding the whole Mage-Templar War than.... First Enchanter Vivienne. But maybe I'm wrong, and its not so. It could well be possible that Vivienne has taken a whole other standpoint than we would think.

Remember that joke about cmpanion and food? Who do you think Vivienne is? I hope Mary Kirby clear this question.

1) bananas foster
2) shortbread
3) ortolan bunting
4) strawberry parfait
5) surprise meatballs
6) chili dog
7) Tequilla + Skittles
8. Scotch Bonnet Candy
9) deceptive wax fruit
10) giant rump roast

I think Vivienn is strawberry parfait. It is delicous, priveleged and orlesian.
