Spirit is now the defensive/healing tree?
Let's talk Vivienne!

I still think they might be using Inquisitor specs as a placeholder and each companion will have their own spec.
I could be wrong.
Never thought of that but idk KE suits Viv and maybe unlocks will be making a return? Nine specs, nine companions ![]()

The skill shown was Spirit, not KE. There's even a description at the right.
Read what I wrote in the post and look at the pic. The tree must have just not moved on to match the one being selected.

I watched the demo. The dev switched from a warrior three (IB) to Vivienne's skill tree, and they shown just the Spirit tree. Thet didn't move in the various mages trees. The only mage tree shown was the Spirit one. Why would changing between IB's and Vivienne's page caused the icon to register another mage tree's icon?Read what I wrote in the post and look at the pic. I believe Vivienne will be KE though.

Ah ok so was it just locked so you could only see the spirit tree? I did watch the demo but that part was fast. I know we saw that IB was a Reaver and I think we saw the sword and shield tree too.
My point was the tree wasn't for the icon above it with the sword and shield. It matches the one to the right so I assume the sword and shield is KE because that makes allot of sense.

Oh, something about her model? I thought you already stated that it was her lips being too big? But now, it's just something about her model. Sorry not sorry, but I'm going to take offense to that, but yea it's no point of going back and forth with you. Have a nice day
.
When Vivienne's eyes were blue, it kind of reminded me of when Justice took over Anders, but just to less extend. I find myself wondering about her hidden agenda now.
I don't find very large lips on anyone, regardless of race, attractive, and being black doesn't necessarily make one have very large lips (that's quite a racist assumption on your part, if anything). But yeah, no point in going back and forth with someone who thinks unattraction = racism.
Anyway, the fanart a few posts up is quite beautiful. I like that guy's art style.

Listen, I am black as hell myself. My lips are pretty big but not overly big. Guess who else has big lips? My white friends. The point I am trying to make these traits although usually the idea of what a typical black person looks like are not exclusive to one race. Bioware is not being racist at all because if they were they would try to make it is unappealing as possible.
I apologize for coming in like this but jumping to racism where there is no racism in the first place is just a bit silly. A tad bit silly. Vivi looks beautiful btw.

Wouldn't mind seeing a close up of her face while she's speaking.

I assume it will be like DA II where each companion has access to some of the 'basic' trees and then their own special tree. We know we can switch weapons this time, so IB will need access to both a two-hander and sword and board tree.
I expect Vivienne will have her own 'Court Enchanter' abilities, and I look forward to seeing what they are.

Just look at her lips,i hope we can shut her mouth by kissing her if she goes all Pro-Templar/Chantry nonsense on us.
Hilarious.

This is the way I see it too. It looks like they are building upon a system or model from Dragon Age 2. Which is understandable because no one wants to start from the beginning in a project. It is too slow and time consuming.

If they don't keep the specialized classes it'll be an odd move, I think that was one thing from DA2 that is in fact universally liked, instead of being controversial.

Not locked, but they didn't switch on others trees. They shown one for rogues (dual Blades), and all the warrior's general one (Two handed, weapon and shield, vanguard and Battlemaster).Ah ok so was it just locked so you could only see the spirit tree? On KE, if companion get the common specs I agree that it's likely she'll be one.

Interesting that Battemaster is it's own thing now. It was apparently supposed to be Champion at first.
I wonder if they took out "Rally" and put that back in Champion.

Considering that from the champion's description it seems a more defensive/tank spec (opposed to Reaver which si the offensive one), I'm tending to have remained in Battlemaster.Interesting that Battemaster is it's own thing now. It was apparently supposed to be Champion at first.

Is it just me or does it look like her face could leave perfect impressions in stone

I think her skin still looks too shiny, but love her facial features and costumes. I don't understand the complaint about her lips. I have noticed they're playing a bit with the depth of her cheeks/cheekbone.
Wouldn't mind seeing a close up of her face while she's speaking.
I think the Shiney skin might just be how they are doing dark skin. Previous games have had trouble with darker skinned characters looking decent in certain lighting (like when it's night time) so maybe they made it more reflective to make it show up better but it also looks a bit shiny?
I could be wrong about that though.

I assumed personal trees and I still think that is possible but I kinda see the specs fitting the compnions.
Vivienne: KE, it is a circle mage thing after all and supposedly only the most powerful mages can do it. We know Viv is powerful.
Solas: Rift Mage, if it truly is a fade thing then it's only natural for the fade expert to have that spec.
Dorian: Necromancer, his ex master appears to be a Necromancer of some sort so he cold know such magic.
Iron Bull: Reaver, supposedly reavers get their abilities from a potion made from dragon blood or wyvern Blood. He's a mercenary and could have killed a wyvern before.
Cassandra: Templar, she's a seeker. I guess she could also be champion but that seems like it would fir blackwall better.
Blackwall: Champoin, coz reasons. ![]()
Varric: Artificer, I actually have no good reason for this.
Sera: Assassin or Tempest, depending on what Tempest actually is.
Cole: Tempest, it could be some kind of magic/fade rogue and it would make sense for the Inquisitor to have the skill cause of the mark. I could also see cole being an assassin though.
It's all just speculation but it could work ![]()

This is what I was thinking. In the pictures from the Crestwood demo her skin looks much lighter than in the newer images and also much more matte, so I'm guessing that having a specular map that gives sharper highlights somehow better preserves the midtones of her skin. I'd like to see her in some brighter ambient light since all the newer images we have of her are in fairly dark conditions.
On a somewhat unrelated note, I noticed while drawing Viv the other day that all of her concept art outfits have a lot of bird motifs--even her iconic "horns" are patterned like wings up close. Considering that the concept artists clearly put a lot of thought into the symbolism of their character designs this time around, I'd be surprised if there's not a hint at her character here. Along with the Ortolan Bunting thing, what are the chances she's secretly some sort of badass woobie? Thoughts?

I plan on naming my Dalish Mage Inquisitor Jafar if Vivienne is a romance, she kinda reminds me of Maleficenet. What do ya think? Too cheesy?
