I love her in this picture. Her dress is great.
I really hope she is gonna be a companion that I'll love.

I think the Shiney skin might just be how they are doing dark skin. Previous games have had trouble with darker skinned characters looking decent in certain lighting (like when it's night time) so maybe they made it more reflective to make it show up better but it also looks a bit shiny?
I could be wrong about that though.
That sounds like a reasonable explanation. It's just that the shininess kind of highlights the lack of proper skin texture. However, I suspect it's not so easy for the devs to fix things as it is for me to point them out, so I'll learn to live with it if need be.
On a somewhat unrelated note, I noticed while drawing Viv the other day that all of her concept art outfits have a lot of bird motifs--even her iconic "horns" are patterned like wings up close. Considering that the concept artists clearly put a lot of thought into the symbolism of their character designs this time around, I'd be surprised if there's not a hint at her character here. Along with the Ortolan Bunting thing, what are the chances she's secretly some sort of badass woobie? Thoughts?
There is that one feather outfit of hers (black and white) that looks like it's made from a hawk. That seems quite fitting considering what we currently know of her (participant in The Game).
From a post I made on the romance thread about having incongruous LIs without gating it off or ignoring the elephant in the room:
Vivienne: *chuckles*
Elfquisitor: What?
Vivienne: My father believed life had an "upward trajectory." If he'd seen me here, with you, he'd be spitting hot coals.
Elfquisitor: Don't many nobles have an elf or two on the side?
Vivienne: Among the nobles, ma cher, who one beds, who one loves, and who one commits to for life are often three entirely different things.
Elfquisitor: The formidable Madame de Fer, dallying with an alienage age. I'm sure you're the most talked about lady in all of Orlais!
Vivienne: I know! And you, ma cher, with your fancy armor and armies flying your banner. What must the alienage say about you?
Elfquisitor: Look at him, his nose in the air, his armor all bright and shiny, bought with Madame de Fer's coin, I'm sure, paraded about the Orlesian balls like some sort of prettied-up pet. Look at him, he's forgotten who he is, forgotten the alienage that raised him. Why doesn't he bring his armies home to set his people free?
Vivienne: You fight for all of us, ma cher.
Elfquisitor: I'm aware of that.
Vivienne: Then that's all that matters.
The bird motif is interesting. Characters with bird motifs are usually yearning to be free, but Vivienne is fighting for the Circle system which has been her home/cage. I wonder if that will be important...

It could just be an Orlais thing, maybe inspired by Leliana's bird hair story from Origins.
So... Sera has been confirmed a romance option for the Female Inquisitor: https://twitter.com/...540324513591297
Does this mean Vivienne is "locked out" as being a romance option for the Inquisitor?

Maybe, maybe not
we'll have to wait until Bioware releases their chart
There's a... CHART?!?!
I was thinking what if Viv is only romanceable by Mages
I was thinking what if Viv is only romanceable by Mages
I'd think she'd go for elves, qunari, and dwarves because they're exotic and scandalous, and the inquisitor one way or another because power.
It's existence is known only through words whispered down dark halls and carried through the ages to our ear.
(Also, David said there was a chart)
Holy crap I need this chart. Now.

Hahahahah then I'll play a Mage.

There are only three female companions. I think that makes it probable that Vivienne is one of the LIs, at least if they are going to go with an equal straight / bisexual / gay split among the romance options.
With Sera confirmed as a lesbian that might mean that Vivienne will be either a straight or bisexual love interest. Ditto for Cassandra.
I have a feeling that Cassandra will be the straight LI and Vivienne the bisexual option.

Aren't you forgetting the scribe? She's the wildcard here lol.

The Scribe might be a LI, but I don't count her since she isn't a companion. Presumably the non-companion LIs are going to have less content.
That's why I think there will be an even division (staight / bisexual/ gay) among the companions. There are only three female companions, so I think they are all going to end up LIs.

That is a possibility.
But I hope you are right.

Birds are also all about fancy plumage.
Or maybe she is guarding her nest.
I want her.
I share that sentiment ![]()

It was stated that some of specialists will be romancable. Some means more than one. Lelianna is out of question
So Scribbles being is 99,99% likely
I never doubted that to be honest. If Cullen the NPC is LI it is only logical there are would be his female counterpart
I think she has a good possibility of being an L.I., I just think that if she is one that it wouldn't have an impact on the sexual orientation of the various companion romance options, since she is a non-companion.
Assuming for a moment that Bioware is aiming for an even division of romance options for every gender/orientation combo, and also assuming that the non-companion romance options are going to have less overall content, I think it would be likely that Vivienne would be one of the romance options. There are only three female companions and with Sera confirmed as the lesbian romance option among that group, I think it is probable that the other two female companions will fill the roles of heterosexual and bisexual romance options.
I'd be surprised at this point if Vivienne either wasn't a romance option, or like Sera was also a lesbian. I think it is much more likely that she'll be either a heterosexual or a bisexual romance option.
Ugh, I already hate her. Every single thing I hear about her makes her sound more like a hypocritical ****** who wormed her way into authority through sheer skullduggery and s****** templar d*** for extra privileges, and now she just wants things to go back to the way they were when she was on top of the world, and screw all the other mages. And she looks absolutely ridiculous. There's no way I could take her seriously, no way anybody could take me seriously with her in my party. I might need her to negotiate with her fellow Orlesian aristocrats at some point (the dread...), but otherwise I've less than no use for her. I'm conflicted about recruiting her in the first place, and I hope I'll have the option of kicking her out of the party again if I decide that that's for the best. Otherwise I think I'll just ignore her whenever possible.
She might turn out to be likable in the actual game, but based on what we know about her I seriously doubt that. She's the worst parts of Morrigan (ruthless, self-serving *****) and Wynne (hypocrite apologist) put together, with an even sillier wardrobe. I'm not touching that with a ten-foot pole if I can help it.
As far as I am concerned I think it's likely that Vivienne will be easily sociable unlike Morrigan, willing to talk and share with the inquisitor, also concerned by the fate of the world, ( as long as she can also find her place ? ) She's proud, especially of he accomplishments, but I'm not seeing yet the arrogance ( I mean despising everyone ) that everyone put on her, except when it might be because of the game and needed for a show of power. Of course, as an orlesian, she might have some biased opinions, as would anyone else, and if you fall at her bad side, or if she sees you as an enemy, she will destroy you with words hahaha ! She can be mean if she wants to, on that we can agree..
