Where do circle mages get the money to buy all this stuff?
I'm sure Vivienne gets it as an extra perk from her title
Some have suspected the sarcasm indicates she won't be. Then again, maybe the fans are lucky? I'd kinda like her to be a romance. My PCs tend to be a bit ambitious, romancing the future mother of the apocalypse, the future king of Ferelden, or getting nominated viscount (you know, before the chantry explodes). I'd like a situation where the inquisitor can forge powerful alliances based cemented with marriage. I won't always take it, but the inquisitor and Madame de Fer as a powercouple...scary.
I was thinking along the lines of she won't be myself. I'm sort of 50/50 on whether or not I want it to be so; for reasons that have more to do with the fanbase than any problem I might have with Vivienne.

Circle mages in general are clothed, fed and supplied on the Chantry's dime through the money made off of their tranquil slaves constantly crafting magical items and general goods. Vivienne in particular probably has a number of benefactors at court, and maybe she owns some businesses for a little extra independence. If she owns any lands, she must collect taxes as well.

Probably people get close to her so that they in turn also get close to Celene.

Tranquil aren't slaves. They are allowed to leave anytime they want to since they are no longer a magical threat.

That's a joke and you know it. The process that takes their magic also takes away their ability to decide to leave, whether they want to or not. Ergo: Slaves.
If you wanna continue this discussion take it to PM or make another thread about it
I love me a fierce woman.
Let's not talk about Tranquil here because I'm already biting my tongue. This thread is for the Queen, Vivienne
Well I'll never call her the Queen(except maybe the Queen of my bench
), but I'll respect you and the others wishes of dropping it.

After 143 pages there's gotta be room for a few short side discussions too, don't be a spoilsport.

The Tranquil debate will turn into another Mage/Tempar thread. Why cause that kind of agitation in a companion-focused thread?

Because there's nothing else interesting going on?

I guess this is why you weren't cut out for The Clique, huh?
Has she been confirmed to have a French accent?
I want her to have a French accent. An authentic one.

Lmfao you must've not heard the news, you'd be quite proud otherwise
Alright, last bit of off topic then I'll go.
What happened?
In the PAX and E3 demos she had an English accent. She sounds amazing though, of course.
An Orlesian with an English accent? smh whatever

I'll message you, it's really long.

We don't know if she was born Orlesian and not just transferred Circles.
The game is set in Orlais and Ferelden primarily, Fereldens are shown to have American accents in previous games, excepting Morrigan for some reason, and player characters in Inquisition will be able to choose between English and American accents. It stands to reason that the English accent will be associated with Orlais somehow, thus effectively letting us choose the Inquisitor's nationality between the two.
It'd be a little weird for the Orlesian accent to suddenly change from French to English, but it'd certainly make the game more friendly to players who don't like French accents, myself included. I hope that's the case, whatever they intend to do about Leliana and Majorwhatserface.
Except Leliana and Marjolaine are shown to have French accents.
