It's not related only to her though. All the female companions are in the same spot in this regard.

She would seem to represent everything people hate about Orlais and the Circle system. Just a guess.

I don't hate her. Granted, a lot of her stuff so far has me almost waiting for a knife in the back if I'm not careful.

I don't understand what you mean, I'm sorry! Do you mean it's the same for the other two female companions or a female with this personality?

Ehhhhhhh, idk! I don't see that, I mean it could be a reason but I don't get that vibe from her myself. At least in terms of the CoM

How so?
The line in the trailer that described her was "Vivienne, a mage with ambition and great power. But what is her true agenda?"
Perhaps I should have clarified. I'm watching her like a hawk cause that last line makes me very wary.

Cassandra and Sera are getting a lot of hate too, mostly from the Straight Male Whining Brigade. C'est la vie.

I think their goals and archetypes are opposites. Morrian seems to be an agent of change / chaos while Vivienne will probably work toward the status-quo and order. My guess is that Morrigan belong to the Rebel (outlaw) archetype while Vivienne could be a Ruler.

And we have the wrong one in our party.

You don't? Well, the things I hate about Orlais and the Circle are more or less everything that I mentioned above. She seems to be a Mirrorverse-esque Evil Morrigan, and I didn't even know that was possible.

lmfao @ Gwydden
Well people hate Cassandra because she's "manly" and her jaw, I'm not sure why Sera got hate before her LI announcement though, except for the bratty thing. With Vivienne, it's been from the get-go and seems to have no eased up is all I'm saying. I just don't see why.

Oh yeah, I can see that.
The only reason I don't think she'll betray us is because she too wants order restored. What does she benefit by taking out the Inquisitor? But yeah, that line made me nervous

In terms of evilness, I'd say that based on the current knowledge they're more or less on the same level. And we have the wrong one in our party.

I see how she is with Orlais, with the fashion and extravagance and I like that a loooot tbh. As for the Circle, I don't. I believe she's more Pro-Order than Pro-Circle, though I know she is the latter as well. Evil?? Why do you think that? Is it the hat heheheeh

At least it seems Morrigan will be helping out the Inquisition in some form, based on the image of her in the DAO outfit in the trailer.

Both are cold and callous, it's true, but I'd say that Vivienne's goals are more malign.

Trying to prop up a corrupt and damaging status quo for the sake of her own position.

For Vivienne, it might be something similar.

It's a matter of perspective, I think. It depends if you're pro-mage freedom or pro-Circle/templar. The same can be said for Morrigan (other then the fact that we still don't know her true goals). Both are cold and callous, it's true, but I'd say that Vivienne's goals are more malign.
Though there are pro-Circle that don't like her because of her attitude/personality, though that's not relevant to her goals.

I dislike the Orlesian society and the circle system but so far I have a good feeling about Vivienne. I don't think she'll be bluntly evil or stupid evil. Also, with her maleficent look and her attitude, the backstab is the last thing that could surprise me coming from her. (Might as well give her a sign : "Hello, I'll betray you ASAP" XD).

Vivienne is totally mystical. Honestly, it's the companion the most difficult to read right now, to me. ( I wait for Dorian, Solas, etc ) She might be less pro-circle than what many think. I liked this line about " what is her hidden agenda ". That describes Vivienne very well.

Well, it isn't really people's fault if they think so though. In her FF it was stated that she's not interested in the rebellion and she wants to restore order. Her hidden agenda might as well be something unrelated to the mage-templar war.Vivienne is totally mystical. Honestly, it's the companion the most difficult to read right now, to me. Plus, it's not only the pro-Circle think that made some people dislike her. Her attitude and personality were mentioned multiple times.
I personally think I'm going to love Vivienne. I don't know, howewer, how many of my Inquisitors would.

Actually, they think whatever they like, that doesn't affect me in any way. That said, I'm not certain I agree with their certainty about that. She will be certainly pro-circle. But to what extent ? There are many questions behind.
I know that there will be people who will dislike her ( it's already the case ), as there will be people who like her. I don't think anything in my post implied that I wasn't aware of that. ![]()

I have notice for awhile now here and other places. The characters who get the most hate are those that are Pro-Circle and any female character that has a strong personality, Miss Indepedent. Gaming community has a real problem accepting Miss Independent.

Pro-Circle? Anti-rebellion? There are those who might choose to just stay out of it, but she seems to be actively on the wrong side.

She's for order, she also has a major role in the Circle/Court. It's more than likely her duty to be those things.
