She's for order, she also has a major role in the Circle/Court. It's more than likely her duty to be those things.
Sometimes, treachery is the only ethical path.

Trying to prop up a corrupt and damaging status quo for the sake of her own position.

But she's joining the Inquisition to restore order and aid her "fellow Mages", what is so bad about that?
Actually, in her FF introduction it was stated that she doesn't believe in the rebellion.
I never said she did?
Then I misunderstood your post. I apologize. But she's joining the Inquisition to restore order and aid her "fellow Mages", what is so bad about that?

It depends on the type of order she wants to restore.

Give peace a chance!

Her focus is the Mages though, no matter what.
What made me hate Morrigan at the end of DAO was the fact that if you refuse to do the Dark Ritual she abandons you. On the night of the final battle which is going to decide if a Blight gets stopped before it starts or if the world is doomed to years, decades, maybe even centuries of bloody war if she doesn't get what she wants she abandons you to death and walks away.
I hear people saying how great her friendship arc is in the game but in the end if she doesn't get what she wants she betrays you and jumps ship. That instantly made me hate her because all she cared about was her goals nothing else mattered if you weren't going to help her goal she was going to walk away. If I get the sense or a hint that Vivienne is the same kind of person I'm going to break her if I'm allowed.
Characters that only care about themselves and will do horrible things to you if you don't help them make me physically sick. If I have the chance I'm going to kill Morrigan and if Vivenne is like he she'll die too. Because when the world is on the brink of either being saved or being damned I want people who care more about saving the world than fulfilling their petty schemes.
I understand your point, though Morrigan didn't do anything horrible to the Warden if she was refused. He/she was going to die either way. What made me hate Morrigan at the end of DAO was the fact that if you refuse to do the Dark Ritual she abandons you. The thing is with Vivienne is that I am very suspicious of her after the trailer.
She is very ambitious, powerful and prideful of herself. Couple that with the line about "What is her true agenda ?"
I don't know about you folks but Vivienne sounds like a prime target for demonic influence. Think about it. She lost her position of power. She lost the Circle which has defined her life for a long time. She could very well be desperate. Plus, she has qualities that make her a prime target for possession...the qualities being prideful and powerful...
Merrill, a powerful mage in her own right, turned to the demons due to desperation. So did many other mages.
Thoughts on this ?

Though maybe I'm misunderstanding what you mean with (will do horrible things to you).
She doesn't do anything horrible? She abandons you, the group, and all of Fereldan to its fate because she didn't get what she wants. She doesn't care if Fereldan burns and the world is cast into a decade if not century long bloody war. If the Warden can't kill the Archedemon right there in Denerim then Fereldan falls and the Blight fully starts and death on a massive scale is set lose on the rest of Thedas.
My Waden doesn't care if he has to die to stop the Blight. All my Warden cares about is stopping the Blight so tens of thousands of people won't be doomed to suffering and death. Morrigan abandoning might be the tipping point between victory and defeat. Risking all those lives just for your own goal and turning your back on them if it doesn't happen is horrible and monstrous.
I don't think that is her main focus, since she is pro-circle.I think she is concerned about both sides, I mean if she only wants to help the mages, that wouldn't help establish a circle.
imo she wouldn't have said she was 'helping [her] fellow mages' if it wasn't her main priority
Well, if all mages in the rebellion are acting like those in Redcliffe, I kind of understand why she won't join them.
That was interesting. In the Dwarf demo the mages and Templars are fighting and then the inquisitor turns up and kills them all. He didn't seem to be on either side at that point.
I wonder if we can choose to pick a side or not to, prior to this part of the game. If not their could be several factions/groups of mages and templars who we will always oppose no matter what. Other that the Red Templars and the Venatori. The elf the Inquisitor spoke to seemed to be complaining that the templars were treating people badly and we know the mages were.
They said our goal is to solve the conflict in the region and it seemed like that particular conflict is centered around the mage v Templar war.
imo she wouldn't have said she was 'helping [her] fellow mages' if it wasn't her main priority

She doesn't seem like the sort to me. She seems to sensible and headstrong. Sure she could have allot of pride but I am not seeing desperation from her at all or naivety like Merril.
For one thing, yes she didn't get to be first enchanter but she does still have a position of power, one she made for herself no less. She also isn't panicking, she is still at court doing her thing and as soon as she hears about the Inquisition she decides to join and fight for what she believes.
