I wonder if there would be a mod for white Vivienne like with Isabella. So many people complain about her being ugly, but she's a really beautiful woman. The standard of beauty seems to be very conservative in video games world.

Considering DAI is on Frostbite, I'd hate them for doing it but also applaud them for being able to do it.

Well there's mods that totally swat the appearances of some companions with others, so if there was going to be a white Vivviene mod that sounds like the most likely way to do it (if it were possible).

The reason I don't like her is lines like this:

Love this picture.

Maybe you are reading the caption out of context, and  focusing on the second half, "sentimentality is not an option".

I interpret this as "in the heat of battle it's kill or be killed". Sort of like being an realist and not an idealist

No, I'm reading in full context since I put this with all the other tidbits we have of her before deciding.

I honestly don't think Vivienne is referring to combat situations.

Vivienne's quote. Why does it make you not like her?

I don't like people who don't help those in need of it when they have the power to help them. Especially for such reasons as self-preservation.

Maybe it is or not, but everyday spent in the court of Orlais would be a battle. This is what the Orlesian game is about, no?

May I add, I believe this sums up her attitude.

but where do you get that from that quote? because she's not overly tender?

Refugees: "Inquisitor, we lost everything! We don't know what to do!"

Inquisitor "Here, 20 sovereigns."

Vivienne: "Wat"

Refugees: "Thank you, sir! Maker bless you!"

So because she puts herself before others? Like most people?

I guess people can theorize that since the quote is very similar to what Morrigan stated in DAO, that the have a similar attitude.
Which is supported by the fact that her FF introduction implies she won't mind a lot of people dying if she's left standing.

She seems to like to ignore the second part.

I'm hoping she isn't just "another Morrigan".

They said she is like the opposite of Morrigan.

Morrigan doesn't care what anyone thinks of her, while Vivienne seems to be about appearances.

While I don't think we have enough info to be sure (there was a mention of the GI coverage that she want to help mages), I think it's a possible theory due to the recent information. Though i doubt she'll be the carbon copy of Morrigan in personally and attitude, so i think it'll be a bit different from the latter.

Well, there are points in common between the two in the survival and (possibly) sentimentality department, though as Sasha said there are already differences (other then one being pro-Chantry and the other being more pro-freedom).

Here what I understood from those lines. Sentimentality means being lead by emotions like love, pity, nostalgia. Vivienne can't let those emotions lead her because otherwise survival can be more difficult in the political area, which is seen as an arena. She's also a mage, it's even worse. And she's right. The game in Orlais is ruthless. I think it means that Vivienne won't hesitate on the means if someone or a faction threats her. she will use any ruse, any trap, she will use all her power. She will destroy her enemy without pity because she has no choice if she wants to survive.

Ooooh! Do you think she'll freak out if you tell her that the colour of her dress doesn't suit her?

Because that would be priceless.

Yeah, it's one of those "They are opposite, but the same" things.
