I highly doubt Vivienne will be a 'thoroughly horrible' person with no redeeming qualities.

Personally, she would have to do *a lot* to get me to dislike her, and even then, I would probably just end up thinking of her as fabulously evil.

She's gonna have layers though, and some of her outward persona may end up being a facade, anyway. Who knows.

Oh, I'm sure she'll have layers. Even redeeming qualities. It's just that, as of now, I see virtually nothing that would lead me to like anything about her.

Who knows. She could make you start to like Orlesians. ;)

She could be the Onion of Orlais. Orlesians the silk onions of the world.

Given Varric, Dorian and Solas, I'm going to chalk that up as "extremely unlikely."

The one elu hates?

Oh, right. Two, then.

Leliana, I take it?

And, as the king reminded me, Adrian.

Well, she's not enslaved; she worked her way into a position of imperial power.

Truth be told, my dislike of her comes not only from that policy, but also her breathtaking snobbery and other glimpses of a thoroughly unpleasant personality, all of which has led me to being... less than charitable in my assumptions about her. However, whatever she happens to like about the Circle will, I think, either be salvageable by a new system or was a bad idea to begin with.

It sounds like what she likes about the Circle is that she's at the top of the hierarchy, and not exactly fond of slumming it in the mock for the opportunity to have a substantially worse off life it if all works out.

She sounds like the most human character Bioware's done in an incredibly long time.

Oh well. All those who have power are afraid to lose it.

Well, given that Fiona seems to be ash on the wind, either Adrian already did... or is a serious contender to take over the entire rebellion, if she isn't leading it already.

Well, she might really burn, depending on where she is at the start of the game.
On topic of Vivienne, I guess she'll clash a lot with. Morrigan, due to their differente views and Morrigan being close to Celene.

Jesus, no wonder the mages have seemingly fallen in with the Venatori.

She's doing a marvelous job in this case, keeping her fellow mages in check in the hinterlands. Though if she's in charge I'm not even sure those acts against common folks aren't welcomed.

If she takes over the mages are going to hell in a hand basket. I always thought Rhys would take over if something happen to Fiona.

I'm hoping for the Dales to demonstrate that. :)

How do you think Adrian could be as the new leader (in that scenario), and how Vivienne might react to her?

I'm betting that Vivienne would not be happy with Adrian's efforts in the rebellion, especially with how far downhill it's driven the mages.

Jesus, no wonder the mages have seemingly fallen in with the Venatori.

Eh, the Inquisition will slide into that spot well enough, I think. If possible, anyway.

The fact that untrained guerrillas are maintaining an even fight with a substantially larger army trained to kill them specifically is quite impressive as it is. If she is responsible in some capacity, it's obviously a bad thing, but DA PCs can hardly avoid associating with everyone who's done bad things, even murderous/negligent ones.

How do you think Adrian could be as the new leader (in that scenario), and how Vivienne might react to her?

Not well, in either case. It's not impossible for her to pull it off, but she'd have to listen to Rhys' advice carefully, and Rhys would have to put aside all of his own resentment... Fiona's death, if it indeed happened, would be a terrible blow to the rebellion's leadership.
