I think Vivi will not be race-gated, but I also don't think she will be straight. I think Vivi would go for anyone that's in power, which will go well with her personality. She can't just be with any slob, but someone who will make her look good. Evidently, she falls in love with the inquisitor, something she didn't think would be anything but a fling. Melting the ice off the ice queen ;D.

ugh if Angela Basset or Sophie Okonedo could do a decent French accent (since it would be weird for her to be the one major Orlesian in the game without one) I would DIE.

Well, from what we heard of Vivienne, she doesn't have an accent. Unless, the sassiness in her voice is covering it up, lol.

Can someone please explain why Vivienne hardly got a mention in any of the Dragon Age books, especially masked empire.

Albeit her official title was the court enchanter, but It's shocking how she was ripped out of all the books.

I don't buy the story of Bioware not wanting to reveal much about her, especially since they revealed a lot about Cole.

Or maybe they planned to have her in both, but they rewrote her character at some point and realized the two would not be consistent. Or maybe the book was written before her backstory was figured out for the game.

She does not but her not featured, leaves gaps in the story, given that she was supposed to be with Empress Celene in Orlais, and was about to be made first enchanter. She should have been there when the throne was threatened.

Unless there is a back story or a reason why she was not there?

Also with all the mages meeting, think this was in the same book with Cole, surely the would be first enchanter should have been there, no?

That's what I'm thinking too, we would find out her back story in the game. Some have said previously that the Empress kept Morrigan's existence a secret. Which I can understand, given the circumstances.

She was mentioned briefly, she also hasn't been cast out of the court.

Morrigan hasn't taken Viv's job. Viv is the official court enchanter, Morrigan is Celene's "arcane adviser", I think the role was probably made up just for her.
