Is he also cheerful, charmingly amoral, and does he possess some kind of hidden heart of gold?

From the survey, I'm positive about the first two, don't know about the third. Granted, a lot could've changed from the survey.
On Sera, I could say that the first and third might be present in her personality, but I'm not sure another the third. And we don't know if she likes having sex and Zevran and Isabela.
The only think we can be sure of (since Gaider stated that Luke said that the concept captured her personality) is that she likes to joke.

I wonder if Vivienne is Ortolan Bunting from that companions food list the devs posted a while back. Looking it up, it sounds horrifying. I like this quote attributed to The Wine Spectator on Wikipedia:

"For centuries, a rite of passage for French gourmets has been the eating of the Ortolan. These tiny birds—captured alive, force-fed, then drowned in Armagnac—were roasted whole and eaten that way, bones and all, while the diner draped his head with a linen napkin to preserve the precious aromas and, some believe, to hide from God." http://en.wikipedia....Ortolan_Bunting

Well, Hawke can kind of turn out to be that if you play him (or her) that way.

To be honest, about Sera,I get the feeling she will be like Isabela but not romanceable this time unlike in DAII. A  very good friend, and  very funny. She could be the new Aveline. Or maybe it's again me with my ridiculous wishful thinking. ( yeah because if Sera isn't an LI.... you see what I mean....  :P )

We don't know how many romances we'll get.
I'D say Sera might be a good bet as a LI out of elf tradition in DA game. So far 3 elves in the main games, 3 LI.

True. Well,Bioware keep saying how much cost the romance department, and keep saying they would keep the same content, nothing would change. So I automatically assumed that we would get four LI, as usual.

And you're right, three elves in the main games, but in DAO, we had two humans for female LI despite Zevran ! It could happen again !

Now, I'll just sit right here => [] and I'll stop dreaming. Sera is certainly a good bet, yea, since she's an elf and we already have Cassandra. A different archetype would be very likely. ( if there are only two female characters as well. ) But I don't know, I don't feel that way.

Bioware never said the romance content will be the same as DA2. Gaider did say (over a year and half ago roughly), that while his preferred method would be to have LI with different sexual orientations, but with everyone getting a choice, but that they need the budget and the will to do so, so having the DA2 Approach is a good compromise. Since then we got the year delay. They might've changed their minds (some people interpreted what they stated in certain panels or posts on tumblr as that they changed their approach, but at the moment it's just speculation).
It'a true that in DAO we got three humans LI, but we had only one elf in the party.

Because terrorism solves everything

Oh, it's less terrorism and more equalizing. Xil isn't interested in terrorizing humans into a change of position, she just wants to make them and the elves comparable in strength.

Mind you, Xil's repeated preference for equality for favored minorities tends to involve killing off and cutting down the larger faction until they suitably compare. (This is rarely expressed in reverse, by the way: favored majority factions are the sacred status quo, and marginalized minorities are expected to deal with it.)

David Gaider has stated several times that the romance content isn't going to change, one way or another, whether people would like to diminish the romance content, ( or want it to burn ) or would like to see much more, each time that people were complaining. In several threads on the old bsn. ( If you really need a citation, I'll do the research ) I didn't really talk about DAII to be honest, just the general content. So basically four LI, and the romance content remaining minor in the game. But what you are saying is probably right about the delay.

I remember the 'not more romance content' quote from Gaider. It was fairly old as well. I don't recall that he stated it recently or after the year-delay announcment.
If there'll be 4 LI, the playersexual/bisexual approach is definitely going to return, since one of their goals is to give everyone multiple choices. If they'll return to set sexualities, it'd be with more LI to give everyone multiple choices. We'll see if they changed their minds.

Hey Spectre Slayer, you seem to be the master of the WoG links.  Are you able to help us out?

Edit: This was one of the articles I could find from his blog about the subject.

Sebastian? Hell, Leliana and Nathaniel avoided that. Unless you mean dual-wielding, in which case I agree.

You forgot either Merrill or Fenris. So 4 for 4 with the elven companions. ((unless we discount all of Awakening's companions since no one was romancable there)

I'm guessing that either Cassandra or Vivienne is going to be an LI. Viv seems to fit more along the lines of the Defrosting Ice Queen trope that we've seen with Bastilla, Miranda, Morrigan, and Fenris. Cassandra kind of fits the same archetype, although she's more hot-blooded.

If she isn't an LI I'd at least like a humorous let down:

Inquisitor: ...so I'm guessing that's a no for dinner?

Vivienne: (sighs) My dear Inquisitor, I'm afraid you don't quite understand. I am out of your league.

Inquisitor: But-

Vivienne: So far in fact, that were your league to explode it would be years before anyone in my league heard anything about it.

Inquisitor: Wait-

Vivienne: Now there's no hard feelings. I'm sure that there's some barmaid on wide-eyed peasant girl out there who will just adore your whole conquering hero routine. I sadly, have much higher standards there is a reason why they say "it's lonely at the top" after all.

Vivienne is the kind of woman that you toil for. The kind that you bleed and sweat for, who then demands that you stop dripping on her carpet.

Not sure if this has been discussed already, but I was watching the old DAI gameplay video and as I got to a bit after the 16 minute mark, a voice can be heard right after Varric. I'm pretty sure it was Viv and not Cassandra as the accent was British. Anyway, as soon as I heard her voice, I immediately thought of Carolyn Seymour aka Doctor Chakwas from the ME series.

I wish I knew if Viv's VA was simply a placeholder for the video or no. Colour me intrigued, regardless. :) Can't wait to find out more about this gal! I can already tell she and my femDalish mage Inquisitor will end up besties. Lyria too has a thing for making beautiful footwear from the skins of her enemies. :D

I was disregsrding DAA Because it didn't have romances. So far in the two main game, the only where there are LI, it'd 3/3 in term of elven companion/LI.

David wrote two followers and two romances and Cassandra is one of the followers he wrote. Cassandra is a LI unless they did a ME3 and have not-followers romances (which I doubt personally). Doesn't stop Vivienne from being a romance though.

Since Bioware doesn't put all character writing on a single person, and has been known to split romance writing from character writing, the fact that David Gairder writes/wrote two companions and two romances doesn't mean that the two characters he wrote were the same romances- there are four elements at play. He can write characters A and B while writing romances C and D.

That has never been done, as long as I've been at Bioware. It may have happened on BG2, but that was before my time. The writer that handles the character writing also handles the romance for that character. The only time when another writer might write lines for a character that is not theirs is in plot writing or banter writing, but the main writer for that character will usually do a pass on those lines to make sure it is consistent with the character's voice.
