Personally, I don't see a way to give mages total freedom, unless they are no longer in danger of being taken over by demons.  Even without that threat, we've heard enough stories of young mages burning down homes or the like, that it makes the most sense to have some sort of organized boarding school, and laws for the actions of mages.  Unless there's a lot we don't know about Vivienne yet, regarding her views on the Chantry, she seems like she'd be the type to have a similar viewpoint.  So yeah, she sounds awesome so far.

Also, I tend to have a thing for bossy fictional ladies, so I expect to crush on her, even if it has to be from afar.

If it is allowed, of course.

I don't see why it would not. Unless of course they're writing another Hawke as the PC.

You couldn't convince every companions in certain situations in DAO either.

I'm sure you'll be able to make her more sympathetic towards the cause, but to completely change her into a Pro-Mage? Bioware shouldn't allow that

We knew you'd love her!

Seriously though, I would suggest maybe you give her a chance, and wait till you meet her in game, before you write her off like that.

If her food is any indication, she's the ultimate intersection of cruelty, pretentiousness and stupidity. I was hoping for more, but it seems that her political affiliation matches that perfectly; willing to see others in bondage as long as she's on top.

Difference is, where Adrian would use a fireball, Vivienne would just as soon cut down an opponent with her tongue. And quite frankly, I find Viv much more dangerous than Adrian ever could be.

Hardly. I doubt Vivienne's ever accomplished as much with one murder.

Don't get me started on Adrian again, lest I bust out my staff.

I posted the original Fleetwood Mac version of Black Magic Woman.

Here's the Santana version too, just for the hell of it

It'd be easier than it seems. She appears to be self concerned. All one needs to do is to find some sort of gain in it for her and spin it in the correct manner. What that'll be? No idea as of yet. But there'll be a way and if not, mounting her head in my keep will suffice as a last resort. And only as a last resort. Far too wasteful to simply get rid of disagreeable folk.

So you don't like the fact that Vivienne seems to be the type to outsmart people

But you don't know that for certain.

We don't know anything about Vivienne other than she's Orlesian, gorgeous, ruthless, and fabulous.

Adrian's just some redhead mage with serious anger issues.

Pretty much. Plus she cosplays as Maleficent. That right there makes her epic.

She's the type to try, for completely pointless games of utter bullsh!t.

Adrian is at least real. I would much, much rather have her as a companion than Vivienne. I honestly see no reason not to punt her off to Tevinter; she'll like it better there.

All subjective opinion. Again I feel like a rock in a big ****** river on not thinking Vivienne's attractive or fab at all.

I like her character, but I'm worried she's just going to be a prissier version of Morrigan. Same loveably smartass personality, some no-bullshit attitude, just a lot more pompous and egotistic. I loved Morrigan, but I don't want a clone of her.

I fail to see how Vivi isn't real and yet Adrian is, if anybody would like it in Tevinter more it would that nutjob Adrian

I don't buy that whole "no-nonsense' thing. She absolutely drips with nonsense herself.

Xil go in the corner and play with you're blood magic, Pointless insulting of a character that we know very little about contributes nothing to the thread.

Also Adrian is a two deminsional allegory of why Mages need to be watched 24/7.

How so? To be honest I'm not seeing anything that makes her sound nonsensical. I mean, pompousness and egotism aren't the characteristics of a nonsensical person, necessarily.

Ah, but I'd need someone's blood to do that.

Adrian was working for a genuinely noble end, regardless of how you feel about her means. Vivienne seems to care only for herself.

My sides, they hurt. She was a nutjob, that like Anders caused more harm then good.

If your really that big on defending Adrian make a thread about her, and as for Vivienne she sounds like a legit character for not caring about the Mage Cause

Her and my Mage Inquisitor are gonna get along just fine on that part
