Sometimes the reasons people adore a character can be why you hate that character.
Vivienne is said by many to be beautiful, awesome, and witty. I don't find her attractive, I don't find her awesome, yet, and while witty, I worry she's going to be a Morriganclone.
That's my logic at least. Don't hate her, but I don't like her. Not yet, anyway.
People have different tastes and all. Nobody is telling you to like Viv.

Never forgave him for that. Kill him both times, everytime.

This new info on Viv, I expect she will be one of my favorite characters now. Also looks like Xil is already on the hate wagon, awesome.
That seems to be such a waste of time to keep coming into a thread to scream to everyone ( because everyone must know as well ) how much you hate a character lmao. How you are going to kill him; How, everything is horrible about him, how everyone in DA is better. There are a lot of people who came into this thread that said that they might not like ( or already don't like ) Vivienne from what they have read and learned and everything was fine. So please, stop the drama. Xilizhra is just getting ridiculous. She doesn't even try. 
I hope to god that Xilizhra won't like her, and kills Vivienne, so she can feel better lmao. She seems so upset, ( don't really know why and i don't care because whenever I read her, I see nothing interesting ) that it's getting disturbing.
There are things I like about Vivienne. Personally, I think that in spite of how she's described she may actually be quite amiable company. I think she's smart enough to know that simply being a smartass or generally hard to deal with isn't always the way to be. I think such behavior would actually be petty and beneath her. From the little bit we saw of her in the demo she strikes me as dripping with confidence, but not at all total sass. But there will be some sass. Oh yes.
Ultimately I like her as a character, but whether she really clicks with me on a moral level is going to be dependent on her motivations. I can say now that I approve of her stance and likely even her means. It just depends on whether she's really in it to improve the QOL of her kind, or just herself. Either way she still seems to be aligned with my inquisitor, so even if we may not agree totally she is going to be one potent ally.
I am surprised no one wants to talk about Mary agreeing that Viviene is a cross between a velociraptor and Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.
Perhaps it only appealed to me so much because I've always had a crush on Maleficent.

To be fair, this isn't a Vivienne fan thread. It's a Vivienne discussion thread. The people who dislike her as just as entitled to express their opinion as the people who do like her.
I can agree it seems like Xilizhra's doing a bit of the old dramabait, but she's got some opinions on the issue just like anybody else posting here. If it was a thread meant solely for Vivifans, then it'd be different.

True. I probably missed most of the information we have on her. The only thing I know is about the Iron Lady thing.

Thankfully being able to tell people to bounce is back so while pro mages can tell her to bounce I can hopefully tell any "mages should be free" companions to bounce as well.
I'm rather neutral on the mage/templar/circle thing, myself- I tend to lean a bit more towards the circle, but Viveinne's politics are the one thing I like about the character. Not because I completely agree with them, but because they're something we haven't seen from a mage companion in a long while and because they're consistent with the rest of her character.
What I dislike about her is her haughty arrogance, her manipulative personality, her decadence and complete lack of practicality. She strikes me as someone who is just going to be a pain to be around and someone who's going to be more trouble than they're worth.
Oddly enough, while she's been compared to Morrigan a lot in these regards, I'm a fan of Morrigan. But I liked Morrigan for her wit, her pragmatism, her naivete, her desire to see the world beyond that which she knew, and for her growth into a better person.
I suppose ultimately I fear that Viveinne is going to be a clone of Morrigan in the sense that she'll have all of Morrigan's negative qualities turned up, without any of the positive to balance it out. I suppose in that regard, I'm being unfair as there will certainly be depth to her character. I'm just not sure I'll be able to tolerate her long enough to discover it.
Also, her hat. I cannot stand her hat.

And since it is a public forum, everyone can give its opinion about another opinion. Everyone is responsible for what he's writting and how people could react to it.
People can give their opinions, whether they dislike or like a character. But if you are going to post things, the less it's constructive, the less people are going to be convinced.
So, I'm not surprised. I've seen many people who said they won't like Vivienne, and I loved what they posted, this isn't the issue.
Wait a minuet. You can spend post after post in the elven threads invoking comments about "master race" and fanning the flames by using the term "Klans", but you're telling Xil that she isn't allowed to express her opinion about Vivienne? I don't get how you can seriously do that.
One, both of those things are subjective and two Klans is a spelling of the word as i said before, not my fault if Americans associated it with an organization that ironically has several things in common with them, anyway.

Especially since I couldn't even point the holes in her logic (god my pragmatic mage just facepalmed so often when she spoke. The only choice he agreed with her on was the golems. But even then he went no because Branka was looney toons.

I don't see what's wrong with Xil not liking Vivienne's suggested association with the Game or her opposition to the mage rebellion.
Its entirely you're choice to associate it with Hate Groups, i merely prefer a more natural spelling of the word, or would you prefer another term? I offered several, you ended up just going on a diatribe response about baiting, no real reason for me not to use it.
Its just a blanket persona don't care for that method of thinking, wouldn't even call it an opinion given we have very little information to go by, but no i am not overly offended by her denouement oft he character, but here is my question to you.
If you don't see my perspective here, why bother even replying?
