Gaider said most of them can be dismissed so there's that.
Plus you can always ignore them if you don't like them

Many things are said....

Well I'm going to take it as truth my optimism won't allow otherwise.
(I really don't want to be stuck with a bunch of people contrary to my PCs goals again. It's just awkward especially when they're not giving your PC anything valuable to justify him/her keeping them around).

Why pro-templar Hawke's were cursed with the monstrosity known as Anders and Merrill outside of a Circle is beyond me

I don't know either. I just hc'd Hawke as feeling he owed Anders a debt for saving Bethany (she became a warden) as for Merrill. He felt he had it under control and if need be he'd cut her down himself.

strange, my extensive headcanon is more along the lines of "Hawke is actually a blood mage and is ensnaring everyone but Meredith"
two kinds of people I guess
Remember that the ultimate goal of the Inquisition is closing the fade tears, not to take sides in the mage/templar conflict, which is likely a relatively small aspect of the game. Much as she cares about her position in the Court and her stance on the rebellion I'm sure both she and Inquisitor can agree that stopping the demonic invasion is more important.
The developers have also said the player will shape what kind of organization it is, who we ally with, and how people view the Inquisition and the Inquisitor. The player is basically forming the Jedi Order instead of playing as a Jedi (to paraphrase the developers).
Regarding Vivienne, you may be right; otherwise, I can't see her wanting to volunteer with a protagonist who is going to pursue a course of action she thinks is wrong.
+1 for the paraphrase!
Well, I rather like Viv. She might have selfish motivations, but she will be a valuable ally in seeking stability. My Mage character will have similar goals (seeking stability), but with more altruistic reasons. I look forward to bringing her along when I arrest Adrian.
I think the real question will be if there's ever an option to have her unequip her hat.
Maker, I hope so

There'll just be another hat under it.
DAMNIT HAN
YOU NINJA BASTARD
..to reveal a smaller hat underneath.
..a smaller hat made of hair.

Zazzerka wins.

That wouldn't really work for my warrior Hawke XD
My evil bloodmage Hawke though...yeah. He was a mini Danarius maker knows what Fenris saw in him.

A habit? Eww...
I personally like Mass Effect's approach, where it felt to me that while there would be a lot of disagreements on how to do things, precisely, everyone still came together as a team, as people who could be counted on to support each other. DAO felt like a bunch of disparate people flung together and DA2 felt like a dysfunctional family, but neither one quite gave what I got from ME, and I think that's a shame.
Not a shame at all really, Commander Shepard is a far more professional character than either the Grey Warden or Hawke, so it makes sense for her teams to act in a more professional manner, which means far fewer petty arguments and discord with the group. The Grey Warden on the otherhand, is still wet behind the ears and far more desperate for any individual help she can get, which is why DAO's team feels like a bunch of disparate people flung together, because it is. As for Hawke, Hawke well her "team" so to speak was more a bunch of people who owed her a few favors, and kinda just ended up hanging out with her a lot (sort of how quite a few friendships form I suspect), until they sort became their own little dysfuctional family.
What I'm saying is, the group dynamics all fit the tone of their respective games. If you preferred Mass Effect's approach that's just fine (I personally preferred DA:II's) but that doesn't mean it would have been a good fit for the Dragon Age games.

Of course you do, because everyone kissed up to you. You want everyoen to do what you want to do, POVs and ideals be dam!

Hey, hey, hey. LET HER COSPLAY AS MALEFICENT IF SHE WANTS.
Captain Cabinets trapped in Cabinets, can he get out, will he get out? Course he will.
Vivienne is Captain Cabinets.

That approach was so flawed
