Beauty is what someone more important than you says it is. At least when it matters.
Let's talk Vivienne!

Well for the people that wants to change her clothes…it will just change to an ironic look of it. But I'm curious what people would want her to wear instead?
Varric: Are those mage's robes?
Vivienne: They are indeed.
Varric: I thought you said that mage robes were "an affront to good taste?"
Vivienne: They are.
Varric: Then why are you wearing them?
Vivienne: I'm making a statement. If I can wear something so gauche then it's clearly stylish.

That's rather shallow of you.
May I ask why?

Oh, I hope the fans are wrong about you, Vivienne, because they make me hate you so much.

Ehhhhh, I agree and disagree here.
I think it only really matters what the person in question thinks of themselves/fashion. I know, personally, I love a good pair of Doc Martens - they're my preferred shoe/boot of choice - but I looovvee high heels too.
So yeah.
But when it comes to the fashion Vivienne is about, it's never about simplicity or comfort.
Between her likely involvement in the Game as a Circle mage and her flamboyant attire, I get the feeling Vivienne will provide another side to Orlais from the one we initially got from Leliana.

I wonder if our Inquisitor will get to call her out on her flamboyant garb and get Vivienne to wear something that won't make our enemies laugh their asses off once we come riding in.

That's a Rival version, OR we can ask her to dress us properly.

Now that you mention it,having Vivienne in the party should definitely add some bonus points to tactics for distracting our enemies...Not bad!

Of course, it all depends on the person. All I'm saying is I'll love for a rugged, bearskin-wearing Fereldan to show her how some people fail to grasp what is "fab" about her clothes and only see them as an uncomfortable, impractical mess. No one has ever died because of a few blows to their ego xD.
Perhaps you'll have to ask the Fereldan as Vivienne retorts with fabulous sass?

The Red Templars laughed. The blood mages laughed. The Inquisitor laughed. And everyone laughed (except Vivienne).
And we were all friends after that.
Bonus points if you can catch the reference.

I'm reminded of a children's book called 'What If Cruella DeVille was your lunch lady,' which had the villainous in the role of a variety of other roles for children: lunch lady, guidance counselor, police officer, etc.Just little one page drawings with some in-character comments.
My favorite segment was 'if Cruella Deville was your PE teacher.' One of them had her, dressed in high heels and clearing hurdles with ease, with a quote along the lines of 'Before you criticize my taste in footwear as impractical, let's see you run hurdles in high heels. Then we'll talk.'
That's my take on what I expect Vivienne's sass against accusations of impractical clothing will be. 'Just because you can't conquer mountains in high heels and an evening gown doesn't mean I can't.'
Which doesn't mean I won't enjoy the chance to challenge her, but hey- if she can keep up with a handicap, that's more power to her.

If they're doing the same LI system as in DA2, I now think that Vivienne won't be romanceable, as Gaider said he was writing two romances and one of the characters he's written is Cassandra, which gives a very strong implication that she's one. And if there's only one other, Sera seems much more likely than Vivienne.

I'd have gone with something more like Samara's outfit. As nice as Andrew's picture is, I think that outfit is too simple for Vivienne.

I have to say that I despise "climbers", and that would probably mean I would hate Vivienne`s personality. This is actually cool, in my book. Even if I hate the personality, I could still love the heck out of the character. I am pretty sure I will use Vivienne alot on my playthroughs.

I kinda agree. Don't get me wrong, it looks freaking awesome. That being said, I too think she should have a much more elaborate outfit.

Is Vivienne even written by Gaider? It's, ahem, extremely unlikely Bioware is going to only have two love interests in DAI after the trends of the last decade.
And what, past your personal dislike, makes Sera 'seem much more likely' to be a potential Love Interest?

I would agree with her on this, simply because both Cassandra and Vivienne lean toward the stoic side. It seems a little redundant to only have them.
