If there is going to be an option to hide helmets. Do you think that you can exclude Vivienne?

Arcane warrior confirmed!
If I'm not mistaken that is a concept for the inquisitor, not vivienne.

It was shown at PAX last year, same time as the DA:I demo. Really love this set.

Why? They all look like normal warriors to me.

There will be no Arcane Warriors or Battlemages in Inquisition. However, there will be spellswords.

Oh gosh, she's gorgeous. I daresay she has the prettiest face out of every Dragon Age female companion thus far.

She looks great. Love the detail that she shaves her head. Now I imagine scenarios where she might need hair, so she has wigs like she has hats, all made from the hair of poorer Mages. Maybe even elf Mages, so she can let such a shocking tidbit drop in casual party conversation.
You know, it's an odd and selective thing but there are so few bald characters out there that in media where great and distinctive hair is a norm, a lack of it is actually a sympathy point for me. For a lot of people, baldness is a signal of weakness.

Quite opposite in fact, at least in terms of psychology and self-concept. Hair hides the imperfections of our skull, our ears, often our forehead or cheekbones. Whatever flaws our head has, the first impulse is to cover it with hair. Baldness allows none of these.

I think that's what Dean was touching upon. People don't often choose to be bald and baldness is quite distinctive, so when people are it's often considered embarrassing or in need of a cover-up a la a wig. To have bald/shaven-headed protagonists as the main characters rejects the idea of baldness being a bad thing, and is empowering for bald/alopecic players and their characters.

Bingo. Baldness is often seen as a sign of sickness and weakness, which is why many women will automatically be assumed to be cancer patients if they have very short hair. For men, baldness can also be an emasculating trait.
It doesn't bother me in the same way- I keep my hair short for professional reasons, and have for over a decade. But I a special soft spot for people who can carry on with pride in their appearance despite it: whether they're not ashamed to wear a wig, or to just not have much hair in the first place.
Kind of funny how that works.

Viviene's shaved head doesn't bother me - just look at Jack from the ME series.
However, the reveal of what Viviene looks like without a hat is what stuck out to me - she seems to have a rather large forehead. The space from where her eyes are to where her hairline is is a lot of open space.
Not to say it is ugly or off-putting, just that it seemed very out of place.

I didn't mean to imply she would always want hair when not wearing a hat. I was suggesting that to her, hair would be just another hat, to be changed, or removed, as necessary.

Kept my own hair cut very short for near eight years for a profession, still keep it relatively short for that very reasoning.
I view hair as a possibly pretty thing but fairly aesthetic.

I love that she is bald. It just adds to her regal nature. Although, I can only dream of what kinds of intricate hairstyles she might have come up with had she chosen not to shave her head.
