I think Viv might get along with Iron Bull, and she seems to have nice banter with Cass, almost like Isabela and Aveline.

Isabela and Aveline had a pretty antagonistic relationship throughout much of the game though.  I see "Sera" filling more of the Isabela role in this case.  However, I completely agree with you about Iron Bull.  I'm not sure why I feel that way though.  Heh, David said recently in a tweet that he finds our speculation and made-up dialogue pretty funny.  While I agree with him, it beats fighting about mage/templar crap.  Plus, the excitement over the new information is uniting the fans for a change, instead of dividing us.

 

I can tell Vivienne is going to be a very interesting character if she's already netted this reaction from the fans.

Don't worry. It was the same way prior to DA2. We were really nice and stuff to each other beforehand, but as soon as it came out, we were in an all out war. Mages vs Templars. No room for moderates. You had to pick a side, or you were an enemy. It got nasty. I'll admit, back then, I was a promage who would have made Adrian weep with envy. Lord have mercy, the curses and insults I slung at Templar supporters were many. So, in some ways, there will undoubtedly be something to polarize us again - I guess I'm just waiting for that shoe to drop.

 

Nonetheless, while I can appreciate snark, there will be some things I will absolutely not tolerate from Vivienne - unkindness to those less fortunate, or the poor.

The fact that I don't generally speculate might explain that my mood hasn't lifted as much as it has for some of the rest of you... I'm mostly just bored of the debate because it's obvious by now that our information is inadequate and that nothing can be decided now. We've made our arguments to the devs... now, may the best side win.

 

As for what you don't tolerate, I'd recommend that you be prepared for it.

It'll be cool to have a companion going in with the reputation of a First Enchanter. How much more powerful is she going to get as you level up? it doesn't seem appropriate if we get her early and she starts off with gimpy spells

I have a feeling that gameplay and story segregation are coming into play here.  She'll probably just be level 1 with a spell or two.

After seeing this bit of fan art being posted on David's blog and him thinking it was very sweet, I keep picturing Cass and Vivi getting along very well.  After all, one of their first shared goals is the restoration of order.

They're both politically conservative. Cassandra has lived with and worked for Orlaisians for some time, and is the Hero of Orlais as well as the Right Hand of the Divine.

If I were a mage with political aspirations who lived in Orlais, do you know who'd I want to be friends with? The Right Hand of the Divine.

No doubt.  Plus, there is a decent chance the two worked together in the past.
