Dragon Age isn't Mass Effect, the game will end on the note that they want it to set up the next game
You're likely right, but I still think the option would be interesting from the perspective of replayability.
I suppose they could. Although I think it'd be easier to just not play then. lol
Obviously nobody would do it on a canon run. But I think it would be interesting to have the option knowing how many people replay the game. If they made it clear somehow that by going down a certain path it would result in the world being forever changed or corrupted there would be people (not me) who would be happy to do it. Knowing it is possible to screw up, no matter how unlikely, might influence how people play the game in a positive way.
It doesn't have to be a failure, it's not necessary that the existence of the world is at any danger in the first place.
True. I was just thinking in terms of doing something so extreme that it destroys the veil altogether and results in most people being wiped out. I don't think it would be something you could continue from.

Couldn't they have a fail ending that just results in a world state that can't be continued?

Dammit, Tash. I typed that on a tablet using swype type. Do you know how hard it was?
Fine, fine.
Vivienne has nice hats.
Natashina is like the on-topic fairy of this forum
I try to be. Besides, I don't want this thread culled and/or locked because we lost too much focus. ![]()
@Banxey LOL sorry.

I wonder what Vivienne's specialization will be. Solas is the 'Fade Expert,' which suggests Vivienne's talents lie elsewhere.
If this were ME 2, we'd be able to pick Viv or Solas to perform a Heal the Veil ritual and picking Vivienne would result in a game over. D:
Seems like they have categorized mages like this before, but not so drastically. Nothing that lends itself to failure at least. Like Morrigan is more aware of being in the Fade than Wynne in DAO. But they're both competent (I think Morrigan's Shapeshifting is probably very tied in Fade experience, but Wynne still has affinity for Spirits.. or at least one Spirit).

One of the reasons I like DA II was that each companion's specialization expressed that companion's interests and approach to fighting.
I hope Vivienne has her own Orleasen Court Mage specialization tree. I'm going to guess it's primal or elemental based, as she strikes me as more interested in magic as a source of raw power and less in its more esoteric elements.
I liked that too.
Funnily, I disliked our own Hawke's take on the theme. There's no rhyme or reason why or how you develop the specializations.

Thankfully, the devs have said that specializations will be more story related, and more than a "push of the button" as Mike Laidlaw said.
I don´t like women who have bald head or buzz cut.

Alrighty then. Do you have anything else to add or was that it? Since you don't have to see her hair, I'm not sure what the point of your post was...

The entitlement is strong in this one.

The point of the post is to influence statistics of how many people find which things attractive, so that bioware looks up to that if their future love interest writters are going to take that into account.

I think you just put more thought into their post than they did.
There has been a lot of folks that either don't mind or like the buzz cut.
And I also don't think BioWare is going to care very much if someone doesn't like a character that happens to have a buzz cut under a hat. It looks like players won't have to see it at all, so they can pretend Vivi has whatever hair they wish to imagine her having.
<shrug> I was hoping they'd have more to add than just that.

I actually hope not. I do want to see that buzz cut.
Bioware has stated many times, that they don't mind a character being hated. Just not ignored, that the worst.
Bioware will do what is right for solid characterization and a great story. That includes the things that are outward expressions of the person, like hairstyles, clothing, etc. Artistic integrity takes precedence, always. David Gaider said as much today: http://dgaider.tumbl...cter-popularity.

Cool post. Unfortunate that he regrets placing Oghren in Awakening. I can't get enough Oghren. Besides that, I sort of like doing the Dwarf quest fairly late on most characters. That makes Oghren a late comer, who later gets more time in DAA.
I'm surprised Leliana is the most popular LI (I'm a fan myself).. if only because they didn't seem to take that into account with DA2. I don't understand why she's off running by herself now. It's hard to interpret her appearances in light of a romance playthrough.
Since we've had a few newcomers into the thread, what are the chances you guys think that Vivienne will be a LI?

No clue. She's appealing though. But then, so was Velanna and I couldn't romance her.
Both Vivienne and Cassandra should be fairly old though. Curious. This might be one of the more mature squads we'd have. I imagined bearded Warden dude is fairly old too. Not that I'm complaining (I'm in my 30s).

Yeah. With what little we know, she has as good a shot as anyone else.
Agreed. Cassandra is somewhere in her mid to late 30s. Varric is I think 40. And all the other characters we've seen seem to be in that age range as well.
