Hey Kunari, hope you don't mind, but since we are forming into a little community as well was thinking it would be good to also have a thread to discuss other non-steve related things ^___^

 

 

But yeah on to what I wanted to mention, having thread your fanfic earlier , really brought back the love I use to have for writing, Now I won't be writing fanfiction, as I said on the Kaidan fan group, I'm not good with pre-established characters and worlds

 

So signed up to the sister site of Fanfiction.net, and just uploaded something that literally came into my mind into the last half hour

 

Were I may take this story, I don't know, I tend to craft as I go along and build on the foundations xD

Just wanted to see what anyone thinks? Now I haven't written like this for like 4 years or more, So I can't imagine what I've written will be very good (yes I'm very self-deprecating)

I read your ff Nae, the only thing I'd comment on is the point of view. You use third person when speaking about Tina in the beginning but then quickly switch to second, further more you name the supposed 'you' character Daniel, I'd go with simply switching it entirely to third person to keep it better focused. Outside of that I was really engaged and definitely want to see what happens to the two of them!

Right I've updated chapter 1, its formatted a bit strangely in the last two paragraphs (taking its time to update), but I'll fix that later , I've added a place holder for chapter 2 as well for now, and it will be much longer than Chapter 1, tbh it may not be very good but I'm really enjoying writing it. 

 

also the main character is now named Reid, surname will be revealed later

*thumbs up* The first person perspective also could have worked, but I reread it and I have to say. I feel like third person is most focused. Poor Reid D: poor Tina! DANG SOLDIERS!

 

Reminds me of Dragon Age, with mages running from soldiers, curious to see what happens to him! I hope he can swim XD.

You'll just have to wait and see Music currently planning out how many chapters I'd but I may just do it on a chapter by chapter basis, like episode progression.

 

I tend to struggle with 1st person, as I like to change focus between characters, I mean I know you can do it with 1st person but I find thats alot trickier to pull off well.

 

I do like your already thinking of why they were on the run, since you've noted Tina using some magic but is that the reason why their village was attacked?

 

But yeah I think alot of my influence will be drawn from DA xD, although dunno whether to just have humans as the only race yet, I could do Elves, Beastmen, Aquatic Races etc

 

 

If I do end up making this a full fledged story, I'd love to get into RPG Maker VX Ace again and make it into a little rpg

Ty for spotting that, at the time was trying to decide the best course for the time changes, and considered making it so each island holds spring for 3 months before switching, I simply changed it in the main narrative but not in the lore section, but its been resolved now, Ty Kunari

Glad you like my main trio so far , haven't wrote chapter 5, current thinking of various plots to follow, while foreshadowing much darker things to come

 

What do you think of the names btw? I generally decided Humans, Half-Elves and Fenrians would have well English names and so on, But I think for the two other races In world one, one being Elves ofc, would have more random-esque fantasy names xD

One character I have planned who will be part of the main group will be a young elf female, who initially is a stalker of the main trio while they are on their "journey", eventually she will get herself into trouble and the three will have to leap to her rescue, though can't think of a name yet but in terms of how i'd describe her

 

(Also there will be a timeskip at some point, since Reid is 9, Warren is 15, Isaac is 23 currently in the story)

For an Elf she is still very young (She's only 19, Elves in my world can live until around 5000 years old) and has very little knowledge of the outside world, The elves are a very proud and graceful race, but these are two qualities that she simply doesn't have, she is very blunt to a point that its criminal and she will let you know what she thinks of you, and she always wears her heart on her sleeve.

 

She is of average height, she has long flowing brown hair with white highlights covering 1/5 of her hair (at the strand ends), she has elongated and pointed ears (as is typical of their race, though not always so), Despite her brash nature she is very gentle and it shows within her light brown eyes which always reflect her true nature despite what she may have you lead to believe
She was raised to be a priestess of balance, practitioners of the holy and shadow schools of magic, and her weapons of choice are a bladed-staves and scepter / focus

Before i write chapter 5, I'm going to write a loremaster chapter, basically covering some more aspects of the world, I will still be putting in loremaster segments throughout chapters if I like mention a "plot device" or "trivia about monsters and enemies the group encounter"

I did see a tweet/snippet the other day, from Mark Meer saying that one of the developers were "interested in making a HD Remake / Remaster for the ME Trilogy for PS4/XOne in the future, need to try and find the link

BioWare has stated they're going to start more Dev Diaries this month so new info should drop soon.

In terms of ME news? None to really speak of. I think it was a month or two ago where they mentioned they had finished the script of the next ME game but outside of that, I don't particularly see anything being released. Perhaps we'll get a sneak peak cinematic's type trailer when E3 comes around or perhaps Pax. I like to stay positive XD.
