That location could be new, if it refers Kal Sharok. Regardless, it'll feature something new regarding DAI, be it characters, PC background our location.I know, that's why I said "found" instead of "from". For example, there were plenty of assets from Origins that were carried over to DA II - just because DA II included them again doesn't mean they are new.
And no, I'm not being condescending. The whole point of my original post was to point out that BioWare decided to release an image of a dwarven paragon, something we have seen in ALL Dragon Age games up to this point instead of showcasing a brand new location or screenshot.
Dev Diaries postponed, New picture to tide us over till then.

... why they decided to showcase an image of a Dwarven Paragon is the question.
Does it have something to do with an upcoming companion reveal? Dwarven PC background reveal? Location we'll visit? Something integral to the plot ... ?
Or ... just messing with our heads, because they like to do that.
Oooooh. All they've showen so far is the male human-quizzy maybe well get some shots or even vid or dwaven-quizzy?!? I'd like that.

EP nailed it. Fandoms are absolutely notoriously diverse, BioWare's hardly an exception.
Frankly the only thing I'm enormously excited over is the game itself.

I really, really hope that whatever is to come next week will 1) be awesome and 2) actually come next week. ![]()
Pretty please. It's like the process "searching DA:I news" is blocking my brain everytime it cannot get results, preventing me from going on with my life if I'm not able to terminate it by force ...

Looking forward to seeing what this scrap of info would actually be, but I'm not going to get my hopes up too much. High expectations make for great disappointments in my experience.

No, I know that delay was a collective sigh of relief, But in an thread earlier today in discussing the possibility of another delay the response was surprisingly negative. I mean i'm not happy that they keep starving us out on info like they have but patience is a virute, the best things in life are worth waiting for IMO, as long as they don't make an unrelated announcement next week or don't just give us the vivienne character kit i'll cut them some slack. I really don't want another ME3 ending. And i certainly don't want them making unrealistic promises in the name of giving info.
They've been working on Inquisition for almost 3 years, at least. If the game was delayed again it would be a sign that development is not going well. Any sequel that requires 4+ years to make is in development hell. If delaying the game a full year wasn't enough to finish Inquisition then it is in development hell.

I seriously doubt that. I think people need to be patient and lower their entitlement gage
Expecting BioWare to do what they say they'll do is entitlement? Jeez, some of you guys are unreal.

Well ofcourse there are exceptions to the rule. Take a GTA V.

If BioWare ever makes a gameworld as massive and dense with detail and content as Rockstar did in GTA V then they'll have earned some leeway. But even then, it's much harder to faithfully recreate something complex than it is to make something new. Rockstar recreated Los Angeles in a video game.

Yes of course. I fully agree with you.
And this thread seems to drag on forever
No, they will probably not delay the game again.

For the people still interested in the statue:
We've already worked out that the paragon is probably Orseck Garal. All that talk is on the 2 page of this thread. ![]()

So that probably means that we may indeed pay a visit to Kal-Sharok...Interesting

So what does that tell us..?
Since Orseck Garal is a dwarven paragon and the king who moved the capital from Kal-sharok to Orzammar,it tell us that we will visit a dwarven settlement...Whether kal-sharok,Orzammar or even an abandoned thaig, it remains to be seen.

It doesn't tell us anything for sure but,
Orseck was the first dwarven king. He ruled in Kal-Sharok, which was the dwarven capital city during most of his life before it changed to Orzammar. Kal-Sharok just so happens to be situated near the Tevinter Imperium, between Orlais and the Anderfels - areas we already know we'll be exploring or interacting with as the Inquisitor.
Kal-Sharok has a pretty interesting history that it'd be really exciting to get involved with. Read the wiki page.

I assume we are more likely to visit Kal-Sharok this time, since it's situated near the locations we're exploring.Tough this doesn't leave Orzammar out of the picture,as we might return to the frostback mountains(judging from the demo). I'm really curious to see Kal-Sharok though, it seems quite intriguing, with it being isolated from the surface and surrounded by the drakspawn.

Right?
I mean, if the Inquisitor has to do it's... Inquisiting with all races and organizations dwarves would obviously be a part of that, and if the Kal-Sharok dwarves haven't all been corrupted by the taint (the codex says there's a few very reclusive dwarves left living there) then there could be some quest around reuniting those dwarves with the Orzammar ones, or maybe just going there to steal ask really nicely for an elderly dwarven artifact.
Lots of possibilities.

As far as the pic, it looks to me like a gigantice Paragon Statue standing over a dwarven city. But thats just me. Kind of Colossus of Rhodes looking.
As for Kal Sharok or Orzammar, I am pretty certain we will go to Oz, considering we already know that the Frostbacks are an area from the videos, and Kal Sharok is 50/50. They have been teazing and dangling it out there as an important area since before DAO ever came out, but we have yet to venture there.

I'd really like to visit Kal-Sharok, if only to see some differences between it and Orzammar. I'd also like to re-visit Orzammar, to see how it's changed since Origins, and how my Origins decisions have influenced it.

As much as I'd like to go to Kal-Sharok, I'm not convinced this is a picture of it. Not that it means a lot but the World of Thedas book mentions the dwarves of Kal-Sharok don't honor paragons with giant statues, they do murals instead. It looks more like a tomb of some kind to me.
This reminds me of something I've been curious about though since I just played DA2 again. The Nexus Golem in that one cave in Sundermount says "The Stone lives beneath Orlais." Does anyone know what that was about? I don't know if it's anything special, but the reference to Orlais made me think of Inquisition.

I think a lot of the things like that in these games are just red herrings.
