Yes
The Shadow broker is the Elusive man and the leader of Cerberus is the Illusive Man.
It made their holographic LAN parties terribly confusing.
But then Illusive Man discovered the Shadow Broker was actually a woman, then they took their homophonic names as a sign, maybe it was fate, maybe it was destiny.
However, sadly, they both needed to maintain their secrecy...
So their holograms got together and had a hologram baby named EDI.
But tragedy arose. There were complications. EDI was autistic, and both of them were too busy with their professions to give her the care she needed.
They realized they needed to find someone who could handle the most awesome of responsibilties.
So they recruited Commander Shepard.
To babysit her aboard the Normandy SR2
And the rest is history
History and Mass Effect 2.

I always suspected The Shadow Broker was a Reaper. Though there was that whole thing about Saren betraying the Shadow Broker. Still, it would make sense that the Reapers would trade information both to stay informed and to make sure the galaxy developed the way they wanted it.
Thats actually what I believe too, because when they describe the Shadow Broker they always said he pursued all information, and that when he traded info it was never enough to disrput the balance between the powers.
may sovereign was a more ambitious reaper who felt it was taking too long to move? they betrayed him but he managed to plant his AI into another device, maybe because he became too attached to organic life or something?

I don't know. It certainly could be so. We'll have to wait and see now, won't we?

Why would the Shadow Broker be hustling a doctor for meds? S/he deals in information.
I think Banes is too prominent an underworld figure to be the Shadow Broker.
I don't imagine s/he'd be a character that had been named, and certainly not one that had been named and associated with criminal activity.
That'd be too sloppy for someone so meticulous at maintaining a secret identity.

Agreed. The Shadow Broker, if BioWare ever names s/he is either A. someone we've never heard about (maybe a 40% chance of this) or B. someone we already know (heck, maybe it's Conrad Verner) that is hiding in the background. (a bit more proable if BioWare ever does name him, in my opinion) BioWare would want the shock effect of, say, the Consort or someone we already know walking up to us and tellig us they're the Shadow Broker, or us finding the SB doing something that obviously marks him/her as the SB and we go 'OMG YOU'RE!! THE SHADOW BROKER?!!' But this is all speculation and opinions.

i dont know where but i heard a theory that the Illusive Man may be a group of people. I'm pretty sure that the Shadow Broker is actually Armistan Banes due to the whole Dr. Michel quest line.

I don't imagine the Shadow Broker would need Shepard to sell him/her/it/them information about Cerberus if he/she/it/they is/are the Illusive Man.

If the Shadow Broker is The Illusive Man it is possible that shepherd giving the cerberus information to the shadow broker (AKA The Illusive Man) is a form of information control.

The Shadow Broker has been acknowledged to be around since information becaome a commodity while TIM only came onto the scenes when humans first made their appearance to the galactic community.

I know that I'm just saying that at this particular instance TIM could have simply lied about him being the SB so that he would get that info.

Hey guys.Banes is drad.his frozen body was found in a derelct scout ship (iirc)out somewher near the border of Citadel space.SB cant be human 1.he gathers information for his/hers/its own purposes, only sellin/trading what info will not upset the balance of power.2. SB,it can be presumed, has many informants, most of them probably not human and some of them undoubtely hostile to humans.
