I'm playing through KOTOR and just wanted people's opinion on which order the planets should be visited after completing Dantooine. Is there an ideal order, or does it not really matter?

It's only my 2nd run after playing it on release, so it's almost like playing through for the first time it's been so long!

Korriban should always be last. As for the other three, I generally prefer starting with Kashyyyk to get Jolee early, then Tatooine for HK-47, then Manaan.

 

It also helps that there are no personal quests triggered by dialogue that take you to Kashyyyk, meaning you have more time to talk to everyone and be efficient in your planet hopping.

Looks like that order might be the general consensus! I'm well into the game now ( Can't. Stop. Playing.) and that order is working well. Appreciate the advice. Cheers!

After several playthroughs I've come to the conclusion that the best thing to do is to travel between planets and pick up minor quests before you complete the star map quest for any planet, because many quests require that you travel to another planet to complete them.

 

Another reason for doing this is that if you exit Ebon Hawk with different crew members at spaceports it can trigger companion quests (if you have talked to them on the ship).

 

And remember to visit Suvam on the Yavin IV space station after you have completed each star map because after the fourth visit (I think) some special event triggers. You dont have to to buy from him everytime though, only need to visit. And if you beat Suvam at Pazaak ten times he offers you an discount.

 

Usually I finish the star map quests in this order: Kashyyk, Manaan,Tatooine and Korriban. It works well for me.
