I've mentioned in the Off Topic suggestions thread that there are lapses in group Privacy settings, but we've discovered a genuine software issue, as well.
In at least one group, the default rank for guests switches to "Owner" whenever someone tries to change it. This obviously has fairly severe potential consequences for a group, if everyone who looks at it has the power to alter its settings. It has only happened with one, so it would be difficult to recreate the circumstances of how the bug came about, but further information can be provided privately, in order to avoid revealing potential security issues in a public thread.
