((This thread was initially in Scuttlebutt, but there is no way to move it here, to my knowledge. For moderators, if you don't want a double thread, just have http://forum.bioware...tal-reactivity/ ,moved here.))

As brought up in another thread, one of the major downfalls of games like Skyrim, was that there was little impact for our actions. If any of the Bioware developers here are familiar with how it played out, you'd know that one of the major selling points was the civil war questline. If it wasn't bad enough that the actual side quest was downgraded before release, what was worse was the lack of acknowledgement that the war was over, when we were victorious.

Perhaps I'd entered a town I'd never been to before, and townsfolk would still complain about the war effort, in spite of the victory at the hands of the Empire or Stormcloaks. Sure a few townsfolk could be asked their thoughts, but overall, the A.I didn't acknowledge anything in the like, as though nothing changed.

The same was said for other quests, the main quest line for example. We travelled all the way into the home of their gods, killing a soul eating dragon, and no one blinked. The only ones to congratulate me? Some guards when I passed through townsquare, later on.

If Dragon Age: Inquisition is going to continue even after it's all over, please, please be sure that our actions aren't diminished by NPCs, because it would be terrible to have removed all of the Fade in Thedas' sky, only for people in various cities to still complain about what's above, etc.

I must fully agree on that. Otherwise, it has no meaning. Many players will rather do all side quests before the end of the game than to see their choises/actions were done for nothing.

I am in total agreement with this. Make the NPCs aware of what has happened in the world, and what the Inquisitor has done to help (if they are in a position to know this).

The last thing I would like to see is something like when I played Skyrim, and as the Dragonborn, who had just saved the world, and who just so happened to be the Archmage of Winterhold College as well, went to try out the Companions quest line, and one of the first things they say to me is that I have to prove myself worthy to join them by duelling one of them. Seriously!? I just defeated Alduin, and I'm not worthy!?

Now, I'm certain BioWare would never let something like that happen, but I still wanted to give my support to this thread.

That must have been painful to try and roleplay. If you're on PC, I'd suggest getting Interesting NPCs. They actually acknowledge the things you've done, and the followers actually comment on quests your on or quests you've completed. Makes the world feel so much more alive.

I think that with Skyrim it was so big that it is hard to keep up to date with all the facts, but yea it would be a good idea to make everyone aware.  However, I think that DA:I will be somewhat more linear with the story as to what Skyrim would be.

Hey, if they were able to do it in Kingdoms of Amalur, it shouldn't be too hard to implement here too. Yes, it might take awhile, sure. But isn't that what the whole extension was for? To improve on things like character reactivity?

Yeah, I felt the same way after I finished the civil war. There was an option to ask people their thoughts on it, but outside of that, most people acted as though it was still going on.

I completely  agree whit you. On this Point but Bioware Motto for this game that choices do matter. So i think/hope the realy do wat the say. Not only for townfolk but also Other factions.

So for exsample. if you try to geth new Alliance if will geth easyer if you allready have support from that and that lord

That's because it was. The Civil war in Skyrim doesn't canonically end with the leader of the oppositions death, it just solidifies the victors hold on the territory which is why they ask you to kill remaining camps.

To be fair, there was a lot of cut out content that involved the Civil War, like taking over several holds, wearing faction robes affecting opposing factions and causing them to attack you, and even the happenstance of losing altogether too, if you lost too many men. All of it reimplemented by the mod, Civil War Overhaul.

I've always said it was like Bethesda made half a game, and just expected fans to finish it off themselves.
