If Inquisition ends up becoming Dragon Age's "Mass Effect 3", what will you do? Will you still have faith in Bioware?

I'm not asserting it'll be good or it won't be good, just curious.

As for myself, if DA:I flops as badly as ME3 did, I think by then I'd lose hope in Bioware's future installments.

It wouldn't affect me really. I do tend to show a bit of bias when it comes to Troika but for the most part I buy games out of the interest and not the developer. Good developers can make bad games and bad developers can make good games.

For me, it's not a matter of faith. Even if DAI will fail, I'd be willing to buy a future Bioware game, if it turns out to be the type of game I'd enjoy.

Am I the only one here who think Mass Effect 3 was just "bad" for it's ending?
I will still have faith in BioWare, probably. Or at least I'll cry myself to sleep and tell myself I still have faith in BioWare.

Well, I personally didn't hate ME3. I thought its ending was terribad, but it didn't break the series for me. I'd probably just keep track of whatever we know about the game's development and decide whether I'll buy it or not based on that info.

I'll tweet the developers saying something like "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed. :("

That being said, I'm one of the rare people who liked ME3's ending, so I have a bit more trust in them than most people seem to.

People have been stating that since their first few games and still continue to buy from them, so I don't see any real value in those spoken words.

If DAI do what ME3 did for me i'll be quite a bit disappointed and porbably a bit apahetic towards Bioware products for a while. Not going to say that i'll never buy their titles ever again since a lot of stuff absolutely can change over time.

I loved ME3, despite the ending, and I enjoy replaying it.

But anyway there is no way I won't enjoy DAI. Even if it's for some reason absolutely horrible (which it won't be), I'm actually enough of a fan of Bioware at this point to not particularly care.

I also haven't replayed DAO in a VERY long time, so I won't really even have that game for comparison's sake.

IT WILL BE GOOD. :)

Well first of all, ME3 didn't flop. Its ending did, and that harmed the franchise, but the game was no DAII/SWTOR. ME3 also likely made the most money of any Mass Effect game, so I don't think the company itself is concerned about it being a  more objective 'flop'.

If it's a ME3 type of situation, I personally wouldn't care. I'm not that much into DA anyway (so far).

If it's a DAII type of situation, then I'm very concerned. Again, it's not that I particularly care about DA, but DA is one of the major properties and if they can't handle it right..

If it's worse than a DAII situation, then my confidence in Bioware is significantly hit and I don't think I'd be able to be positive about them anymore. Still would have ME:N as a personal final chance I'd give them.

Current stance with any Bioware game is:

-No preorder for anything

-No Collectors edition for anything

-No launch date (or launch month) purchase of DA, but I'm up for it with the next Mass game

-Open to changing this based on certain or surprising reveals of what will be in either game, but still probably not getting DA:I itself ASAP

Before ME3 it was:

-Preorder Mass games ASAP, don't bother with DA

-Collectors Mass games ASAP, don't bother with DA

-Launch date for Mass, and happily buying at some point for DA (though DAII shook that up)

So yeah, I've went from BioDrone (lolwhatever) to critical but optimistic customer. Next two games will tell what I am next.

I'll be reading reviews and gathering all the info I can find before deciding whether to buy DAI or not, so if I don't like what I see, then I'll skip this one. I won't buy their games on faith alone anymore like I did for ME3. BioWare made some of my favorite games, and it's possible they could do so again, but the direction they're taking with some of the new features is not something I enjoy. It could really go either way at this point.

After this long wait and all the teasing ... well, I don't think I would go "I'll never buy a BioWare game again", but I'd be seriously disappointed if I happen to not like DA:I.

I don't think this will happen, though, since I honestly love all previous DA and ME games. Including DA2 and ME3 (at least after the DLCs).

No you are not. Mass Effect 3 was a great game with a extremely crappy ending.

Not saying you did, just stating that I've seen many users preach they lost faith, yet I see a new game under their Avatar.

Currently, I'm loving what they've shown for Inquisition, but I'm not buying it until a few months or even a year later and this is because of how I felt during ME3 and DA II (to a point, I did enjoy that game).

For the most part, I thought Mass Effect 3 was a really good game. The ending was its greatest weakness, aside from some of its narrative issues (among other things). But really, I see no way that BioWare would make similar missteps that they did with the ME franchise. Sure, I guess anything's possible, but sometimes I feel alone in having enough faith that they actually learned from those problems.

This is a bit difficult for me to imagine. I am convinced that Inquisition is going to be insanely awesome.

Then it isn't good.

everything else you ask is pretty much irrelevant in the grand scheme of themes.

What will I do?

Nothing except replay the game.

Will I still have faith in Bioware?

Yes. I've put in more playing time with their games than any other game that I played and don't expect that will change. I'm not sure what it would take for me to lose faith in the company.

I didn't hate ME3 when it came out. I didn't like the ending, but the EC fixed that for me. If DAI is bad I'll be disappointed, but I don't think that would make me loose faith in Bioware.

If I somehow do end up disliking DA:I, I will still buy BioWare games. BioWare RPGs are the only RPGs I will play.

And I actually liked ME3's ending. And DA2.  -unpopular opinion, ahoy..! don't kill me-

Considering that although it's made by Bioware, it's being developed by a different team, Mass Effect was headed up by Casey Hudson, Mike Laidlaw and David Gaider who make the Dragon Age games were never involved with Mass Effect, it would make me wonder about Corporate policies of Bioware that would affect the different teams within the company.

But I have faith in Inquisition. It's development team made Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire and Dragon Age Origins.

I enjoyed ME3 up until the ending but that has only put me off playing the ending of ME3 in subsequent replays.

I quite liked DA2, so DAI would have to be really bad to put me off future BioWare games.

That's going to be my approach. Wait several weeks before buying to gauge every review, not just relying on a few major ones who could be... unscrupulous (cough, IGN ME3 fiasco, cough).

And as for my questions being irrelevant, how-so? It can be relevant if longtime fans, such as myself, either keep going with the company or give up on it. I mean, it's not that I want to. I've been playing Bioware titles since the first KOTOR. This is just a figurative 'what-if' scenario.
