The longer we go without information, the more negative I feel towards the game. In September after races, a big beautiful world with exploration, choices that matter, etc...had been talked up I was feeling really good about it like they were listening to fans and making a game that I would love, but now I'm getting really bitter again and can't help thinking "it will suck like DA2 and ME3 and be geared towards some weird mishmash of angry birds and CoD players" >_<

I don't think you need to worry about this.  DA is much more likely to follow in the steps of the Witcher or Skyrim

This is an interesting perspective and one I'm not sure I entirely understand.  Why would the opinion deviate so much in the absence of new information?  Though I have a feeling that doing something like we did at PAX would reset the scale back to where it was.

I could understand perhaps a decline in interest (i.e apathy), but not a cynicism (i.e. antipathy).  Can you elaborate?

Irrational reaction to fear and restlessness. I always have this kind of reaction when I'm left in the dark for too long. ex:

"Your brother got in a car accident but he's going to be ok, he just hurt his ankle" me: oh ok nothing to worry about (2 days go by with no contact or update) me: OMG he's dead!

You know some damn intern accidentally deleted half of the game. I've been mashing the panic button for hours now.

The BioWare game I hated wasn't DA2 or ME3, it was the Neverwinter Nights original campaign. (Seriously, don't get me started on the subject.) And yet, I still came back for more. I even played the expansions, which were a lot better.

So on the off-chance DAI turns out to be a game I don't like - which seems unlikely, but it could happen - I doubt it will change my opinion of the company going forward.

@OP, if the game is "bad", then so what? Life moves on. BioWare is still my favorite game studio, so I'll never lose faith in them. And to be honest, I'm very, very optimistic about what we have seen so far.

If it's bad it's bad. I'll trade it in and get some credit at gamestop for another game. I'll play it, get over it in a week, and move on.

Don't see why anyone would have any other reaction then that. It's like your favorite football team not winning the superbowl and becoming inconsolable over it. It's just a game, move on and hope it's better next year.

If Inquisition ends up becoming Dragon Age's "Mass Effect 3", what will you do? Will you still have faith in Bioware?

I'm not asserting it'll be good or it won't be good, just curious.

As for myself, if DA:I flops as badly as ME3 did, I think by then I'd lose hope in Bioware's future installments.

I'll do what I normally do - expunge it from my memory and play other games.

I don't think it will be a bad game I am worried I won't enjoy it as much as DAO or DA 2, because of the added busy work, resource management, lack of health regen, back tracking and day / night cycles. Features I know some people enjoy but were not part of the DA experience and are not needed.

If it turns out like Mass Effect 3 I'll be fine,

People always focus on the last 5 minutes and forget about a lot of gamplay elements that were added in ME3.

- Weapon customization system

- Power combo system expansion

- Power evolutions which really changed some of the classes around compared to ME1/ME2

- Better DLC implementation

- More fleshed out Party member interaction

ME3 had a lot of great new features that, when I go back to the previous games, I go "Oh wait I can't do that".

Also for the person who will bring up "Auto-Dialogue".  This was in previous ME games, it was just hidden better under the disguise of choice so I don't see it as a deal breaker.

I can't say I was super duper happy with ME3, but I wasn't as disappointed as some people around here (or who aren't anymore).

That said, I'm looking forward more to the next ME game and how that'll be, but I still hope that DAI will be a success and that Bioware have learned from previous experiences and have also listened to feedback =)

I'm assuming this game will suck like the ones that came before it (DA2, ME3). If Bioware wants me to buy it, it'll have to get a good review from a source I trust (i.e. Polaris, TotalBiscuit, maybe AngryJoe [he wasn't critical enough of Dragon Age II, in my humble opinion]).

I'll probably lose interest in BW games and fade away from them completely. Mass Effect was my favorite game franchise ever pre-ME3, having put more hours into it than anything else. Now I'm not interested in ME in the slightest. Same could happen with this and unless their new IP looks appealing I imagine I'd just forget about them and play other things.

Of course I'd rather that not happen.

Saying ME3 is flop and not mentioning DA2 is insulting. I dont get it. Are people trying to be alternative and interesting or maybe conformists with saying that ME3 sucked. The game had strange ending (which i liked to some degree) but had the best gameplay ( no question about it - ton of armor, weapons, abilities), best visuals, best hub area to explore (citadel), best normandy. The only things that lacked was small number companions and side missions. But in many aspects it was the best of the three do not be ridicilous and whiny.

If DAI sucked ? If it sucked like ME3 i will play the hell out of it. If it sucked like DA2 i wont finish it and continue with my life. There are ton of good RPG's waiting for me. Plus next gen will do wonders for PC master race. ( not limiting the pc hardware, like 360 and ps3 did)

If it's bad I'll take the game out of my PS4, put it back in the case, place it back on the shelf, go 'huh' and then I'll do something else.

May I have some of that money you have too much of?

That doesn't make sense; if the game is bad I'm not going to get my money back for it unless if it doesn't work. If it's bad I'm not going to run to my laptop and scream at BioWare "I HATE YOU!" I'm simply going to mark it off as a bad purchase and go do something else such as read, maybe some cleaning.

For what has been done cannot be undone, the past cannot be changed for good or ill, see to the future instead of miring in the dusts of despair known as the past.

Also I'm a Uni student, asking me for money is a bad idea. I can tell you how to save your money to purchase something you want though.

If this game turns out as disappointing as ME3, I'll probably stick around regardless, there's always the next game

If you mean, " if it sucks ", well I am going to tell to Bioware that their game sucks hard in my feedback, why, just once, and goodbye. This time, I won't be upset, because I expect to be disappointed while it wasn't the case the first time. DA2 was a mistake, and DAO beautiful. That's what I believe. But two games I really dislike in the same franchise, yeah, that's too much for me, knowing that each game takes years before the next release. The decline of interest would be immediate and ruthless. ( I wouldn't care about the next game. ) I can't stick around, if I don't have any interest for the company and its games as well.

Personally, I'm not really a hardcore gamer. Bioware is the only game forum where I stick my nose and discuss with people on internet. ( It shows how Bioware is or rather was special to me once )Otherwise nope, I buy my games and I live my life without talking about vdeo games except a few times with my friends around me. But that's all.

If DAIII is good, and I love it, well, I'll say to Bioware : You rock Bioware in my feedback, why, and I'm probably here for years, discussing the new game, and this time you'll probably see me less complaining about things and less grumpy. XD

I already don't have faith. I'm not really sure where I fall on this, but I want to be hopeful. I want good games, don't we all.

If DA:I fails to deliver, then I'll categorize it as more bad than good and not even pay attention to future installments.

but had the best gameplay ( no question about it - ton of armor, weapons, abilities),

I question it. Throwing more at something doesn't inherently become better. Too many of the additions expanded beyond strategic to all-purpose. Instead of thinking about what characters you bring with you and what weapons you equip to face the challenges of a mission, you pick the ones are easiest to spam. Overload, for instance, went from being useful against shields and synthetics to being great crowd control against anything that didn't have armor. And there were a lot less enemies with armor. The ones that did have armor tended to just be bullet sinks and the boss fights were the worst of the franchise. Probably the worst boss fights I've played in the entire console generation.

I hate ME3 and not just for the ending. You're right that they improved the combat, unfortunately combat is not something I enjoy in a game. If it's good then it's a bonus, if it's bad I trudge through it to get to the things I like: characters, role play, story, and exploration. All of these things were "streamlined" compared to previous games.

I don't see it not being good; I like what we've seen thus far. They've taken ME3's criticism to heart and the Citadel DLC is proof of that.

If I'm somehow unhappy, I will always have origins. Which unexpectedly I'm starting to like more than the ME trilogy. Blasphemy, I know.

Bioware isn't infallible but I've yet find other rpgs that even begin to touch their legacy.
