To be honest I don't think Varric changed that much. Casandra's redesign I like, she's more of a warrior type in appearance. Some people **** on Morrigan's redesign but I really don't think she changed that much too.
Your thoughts on Varric and Cassandras, redesign?

Cassandra seems like a cross between Faora and Xena: Warrior Princess. There's so much RIGHT with that.
She will be mine. Oh yes, she will be mine. I hope.

I love both of them as well, only object to their hair a bit.

I was never a huge fan of Varric, either in looks or personality. Nothing against him, but he didn't wow me as a character. However, I LOVE Cassandra's look. When I fist saw her, and even now, I see her as the DA equivalent of Mariska Hargitay.

That is a compelling combo.

I like Cassandra with long hair, like in the movie.

Am I going to get beat up now for liking the movie?

I've heard both good reviews and bad, but anyway, I don't really think the pictures on the OP are a definite thing to go by. I mean, take the Urn of Sacred Ashes trailer, for instance, the characters in the trailer look very little like they do in the game, save for concept. The different animation makes them a lot different.

But the pictures linked are actually in-game models. The Sacred Ashes trailer was done by blur.

I don't like Varric's new hair color. As for Cassandra, I never liked how she looked. I'm not a fan of that short of hair on women.
What, the boobs clash with her hairstyle?
On topic, I don't care for the redesign on principle, but I with varric had that design from the start. Honestly, it was weird having a blonde call the other blond, "Blondie."

No the trailer was made by BioWare using the Frostbite engine, Blur had nothing to do with it.

I love both of the character designs. Including Varric's auburn hair. We haven't had a red-haired male companion yet, and I think it's about time we did.

Wasn't Sebastian red-haired or something? Don't have the DLC, so I can't say for sure.

The Sacred Ashes trailer was a trailer for DAO. It featured Sten, Leliana and Morrigan. It was made by blur studios, much like the Destiny trailer for DA2.
I was saying that the trailer the pictures are from were made using the in game engine.

I think this is a more appealing version of Cassandra; but the Inquisition Cassandra looks a lot closer to the DA2 Cassandra than this one. And as I said before, I like the more realistic art style for the characters, but damn that jaw of hers is huge. It kind of distracting actually.

The change to red hair is a big deal when it comes to cosmetics

Also, Dawn of the Seeker takes place right before Cassandra goes to investigate Varric. So it's not really that she doesn't look like the DAII version, it's that before she goes to talk to Varric, she probably cuts her hair.

No it doesn't. It takes place in 9:22 while her interrogating Varric happened in 9:40.
That said I also loved the movie and Cassandra's appearance in it. If I ever get DA2 on PC, that is the first mod I'm getting.

I really like their redesigns and am loving the improved graphics. Like most people though, I'm having a problem with Varric's hair color.

Really? I thought at one point they mention the Kirkwall incident. Hmm, I guess I was mistaken.

Really? Based on the dialogue it sounded like the interrogation took place afterwards.
I think interrogations is a pretty common part of the job for the Seekers of Truth. ![]()
