Cassandras new jaw s horrible. Id complain bout Varric's beef jerky hair bt he wont ever be in my party in this 1 either so no point dwelling on that 1

Varric looks weird in the latest pictures, but he looked good in the actual in-game stuff we've seen.  Though there's a definite change of style, that kind of makes me suspect his character's emphasis is switching from comic relief sidekick to a more serious role, and probably a potential LI.

Cassandra is a definite change, but I don't mind because her previous face was a bit too much of a bland DA2 CC dough face.  Though now I look closely I think she actually looks quite distinctly like Lady Hawke with Cassandra's hairstyle, darker skin and brown eyes

Yeah, I noticed that too... Looked like quite a lot of characters suffered from 'same face syndrome' in DA:II.

Seeing DA:I Cassandra at first was jarring but the more I see it, the sillier DA2 Cassandra seems.  Similarly, I liked the attractiveness of the NPCs in DA2 on my first play through but got bored of their bland faces in subsequent games.  I look forward to other important characters in DA:I receiving the same treatment as Cassie and Varric.

 

Varric looks changed by events most of all, but I do miss his chin

I love Cassandra's look so much that ill turn lesbian for her if she will be romanceable by both genders. If not ill always keep her in my party, shes awesome.
Varric is great too, i see nothing wrong with him. Except hair should be lighter. Otherwise both of them look hyperrealistic and i like it.
I hope we will see other characters soon

They do, but their talking about the older incident where the city's ruler tried to eject the Templars and was subsequently deposed by them, to be replaced by the Viscount we met in DA2

I was never a huge fan of Varric, either in looks or personality. Nothing against him, but he didn't wow me as a character. However, I LOVE Cassandra's look. When I fist saw her, and even now, I see her as the DA equivalent of Mariska Hargitay. 

 

Hey, I can actually see that comparison, with the jawline, and the no-nonsense attitude (of course with that last I'm going with her, um, is it CSI? L&O? character).

 

And I'm with you on Varric, but man is he popular!

I love how much more real they look, especially Cassandra. Varric just needs little bit lighter hair color and boom, there it is. I recognized both of them from the E3 trailer and was quite surprised that many people didn't.

People didn't recognize Varric in the trailer? Cassandra maybe, but Varric? I mean, he had Bianca on him in his scene.

I've never heard anyone not recognize him, Cassandra took me a moment though.

I loved the movie, too! But in regards to her having long hair, I feel like that's more of a "young Cassandra", I don't know, I can't see an adult/mature Cassandra with it.

At first, I wasn't too keen. Cassandra seemed too angular with her pronounced cheekbones

and jaw, but I have since grown used to her redesign. She isn't one of those overly buxom types

which I really appreciate after the fiasco of the female big bewbs and booty shape Bioware got

going on in the previous two titles.

 

Varric seemed heftier too, but it works for him. My only complaint

is how dark his hair has become, when I am used to the honey blonde color.

I think you make a good point it`s a shame cos i liked the longer hair . I  hope she is still the same type of personality , can`t wait to meet her .

Judging by DA2 I think she will, she was a badass that didn't take any bs when she became the Hero of Orlais, and with the way she talked to Varric.. well, needless to say she was the same way. I think over the years she's just hardened a little.

I daresay she's even a bit bitter now that the very system she has sacrificed so much for is falling apart despite her best efforts.
