Hi,

I own ME and ME 2 on xbox, ME 3 on PC. I would love to own all games and all DLC on PC but Bioware/EA have made that pointless thanks to Bioware points and the fact that they or the DLC trapped behind them go on sale or reduce in price over time.

This would be understandable if this happened on all formats but I see the DLC on sale regularly when i swich on my PS3 or 360 so I am unsure why the PC gets no love?

I love the series and can not wait for the next Dragon age but if future games are going to be trapped by bioware points It makes me grudge paying full price for games if they are treated this way.

I really do not get what the problem is here.

The problem is that these are old games now like all old games the price is now reduced and the games regularly go on sale for very little.  A single part of DLC costs more than twice the cost of the game itself,  there is no sale on PC for the DLC, ever or at very least not in the last year to 18 months.

The other part of this problem is that if you want to buy the DLC you need to buy an awkward amount of Bioware points. i.e. Citadel costs 1200 Bioware points  but you cant just buy 1200, you have to buy 1600 Bioware points what good is that?

I agree.  Bioware points are a ripoff, and my realization of that has prevented me from purchasing any ME3 dlc. It took me a while to realize; I have all dlc for ME, ME2, DAO, and DA2.  Bioware fanboyism took a while to die, I guess.  My realization that EA still wants me to spend $50 on top of a $70 or so "collector's edition" preorder, even years after the game's release, has prevented me from preordering the next dragon age. If you haven't guessed, I preordered the "collector's" pc versions of ME, ME2, ME3, DAO, and DA2.  If the current dlc purchasing system remains in place, I have no desire to put more of my money into it.  Not replaying ME3 to see the DLC has given me time to play many games from other developers and publishers, though, so I guess Bioware points aren't all bad.

I also have not purchased any of the ME3 DLCs.  The amount of money required to get the three game extending DLCs is just too high.  It would be nice to see EA/Bioware put together a DLC package for less, or reduce the number of Bioware points required to get them.  Please :)

Agreed.  I liked the whole trilogy, including ME3(even before they patched the ending) and I'm sure I'd enjoy playing the dlc.  I just can't justify purchasing using the current pricing and point system.

I picked up the ME3 Digital Deluxe Edition for $20 while it was on sale on Origin around Christmas 2012.  It's been nearly a year since Citadel was released.  I find it utterly preposterous that it's been eighteen months to two years since there has been any sale on Bioware points for PC customers, yet there has been at least one occasion that ME3 DLC has gone on sale for the PS3 and 360?

On another sub forum somebody posted their conversation between himself and an EA CSR on their general help line with regards to Bioware points on the PC, and the response he received...well, you try to make it out for yourself (goodness knows I still CAN'T after finding this gem last week):

http://forum.bioware...ale/?p=16157660

'for equality for the good of all the players.'  If EA/Bioware actually believes in that, then where is the (long overdue) sale on Bioware points for PC customers, for you know, equality's sake, especially since Xbox/PS owners have had theirs?  Or why not just ditch the archaic points system and switch to a currency-based one?

And perhaps I might have been reading too far into it, but there's a bit earlier in the conversation where the EA CSR states:

'because there are more players that are using PC than PlayStation and Xbox.'

Sounds to me like EA/Bioware values PS/Xbox customers more than their PC counterparts.  Of course, I could be wrong (and I would LOVE for them to prove me wrong...), but I doubt they'll do anything to change this ridiculous situtation anytime soon...

Honestly, when I saw this thread name, I thought it was going to be a suggestion about getting rid of Bioware Points.  If it had been, I'd have given it a Like immediately.

If they are going to price things in Bioware Points, I wish they would at least have an even, easily determined number of Bioware Points per dollar.  Say, 10 per dollar, instead of the strange non-divisible-by-ten number it is now (I knew it once, but I forgot).

More sales would be nice, too, for the people who still don't have all of the DLC, but primarily, I'd like to see the Bioware Points vanish.  Poof.  Gone.  Just tell me how much the DLC costs and I will give you my money if I like the game and it isn't overpriced and I'm not broke at the time, I promise.

Don't think I've ever paid for more points than needed for the DLC I was after - even if the exact amount isn't available there have always been smaller amounts that summed up to the right amount, and IIRC the price per point was the same.

I agree with the fact that the points are "pointless" :)

It's time to reduce the prices on the DLC, Bioware. I would actually buy it if you reduced the DLC prices finally. Until then, my money goes elsewhere.

Even Microsoft ditched stupid points. Time for EA/Bioware to do the same

What about a sale for DA2 and ME2&3 DLC? I don't mind the points, what I do mind is the price for the small chunks of content you get for such old games. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on all that DLC if it was better priced, or at least on sale once in awhile.

"Bioware points just seem incredibly anti-competitive and designed to obscure the ridiculously high prices of dated DLC."

Excuse me, but... Anti-competitive? Really? Is there any other way for you to purchase the DLC? Any other source available?

No, and you don´t want another game, you want this one, so that´s the way to obtain it. You either purchase it or not, but it´s not for you to decide when Bioware should lower the prices. If you think it´s too costly for you, or if you´re unwilling to pay that much, don´t purchase them. Quite simple.

The reason why they keep doing it is because they can. They know the games have a loyal fanbase. If the dlcs are selling well, so the strategy is good.

Frankly, these games have such quality and replay value that I can pay for the DLCs without even blinking. And even if I was not, I certainly would not go to the official forums to complain about it.

I believe they said that PC has the most people playing multiplayer currently. If you didnt get the free DLCs because you didnt want to click the download button...Well that could explain why you dont see very many different people... Probably only 20 of you out there that avoided the free content..

Fun fact: I only got into this trilogy because it was discounted and available on Steam. If it wasn't for that, I would never have played any of the ME series, nor shelled out on their DLC

That got me in; luckily I have some disposable income and so bought some of the DLC using Bioware points; this has been an exception and is unlikely to be repeated, as I find the notion faintly ludicrous. Why not just put it in £? I am not so stupid that I can't see how expensive it is, EA; especially compared to other publishers DLC years down the line.

Oh and another thing? Sort bloody Origin out, please. It's years behind Steam. The fact I have to run it through Steam to even take screenshots is just ridiculous.
