...no joke, I've been going through my profile settings and trying to edit my profile for the last 24 hrs...

Are there no more profile pics provided by the forum? I can only post a picture from my own gallery or another website? (or am I missing something? Because if I am, then this site is way less streamlined than it used to be)

And how in the name of Zeus' butthole do I display the BW games I own under my profile pic?

The previous two times the BSN updated I was able to sign on and easily navigate everything in its entirety....this place is not user-friendly in the least.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

1. Go back to the old BSN site
2. Click your avatar over on the left-hand side of the page
3. Click the "Games" tab
4. Under the section marked "Mass Effect 3 - Player Profiles" you should see two links
5. Click the link marked "Mass Effect 3 - PC [Your Username]"
6. Copy the URL from that link, then come back to the new BioWare Forum
7. Select your username at the top of the page on the right-hand side, go to "My Profile"
8. At the top of that page, click the "Edit My Profile" button
9. At the bottom of that page, find the "Game Profiles" section
10. Paste the link you copied earlier into the box marked "Mass Effect 3" and then click "Save Changes"

Done! You can do the same with Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 as well. Mass Effect 2, sadly, is not supported on the new forum, so there's no icon for it here.

You'll get used to it most likely. It's not so bad.

If not, then you'll just rage quit like I've seen some people do. Lol so dramatic those ones.

I find it to be a much better site personally, eye-smashing white aside. Also, there's a forum for these types of questions: http://forum.bioware...-forumbsn-help/

Lol wow....so it's really that complicated? Bravo Bioware, Bravo...

Thanks a lot. Any idea about the profile pic? I still see people using their old ones from the last BSN.....

For that, I just right-clicked my pic and used "Save Image As" to download it from BSN. Then I edited my profile here and uploaded it.

Which one did you want from the old site (i.e. were you using one of the generic ones they provided or a custom avatar or a Warden/Hawke one)?

I just went back to the old site, right-clicked on my avatar to save it, re-sized it as needed, and uploaded it here. File limit is 500KB, 100x100 pixels in dimensions.

If you give me some direction as to what you want, I don't mind grabbing one of your old ones and customizing it to work here.

I am still trying to find the forum rules.

Don't know where they are.

Here, you were using the generic Liara one last,it looks like?

Try saving this to your computer and then uploading it to your avatar area. Go to "My Profile" and click the "change" icon in the upper left-hand corner of that default avatar.

I am still trying to find the forum rules.

Don't know where they are.

Look at the very top navigation bar for the forum. There is one called "About" and when you click it, you get a drop-down menu. Site rules is the second link.

Thanks a lot DragonRacer. That's much appreciated. I've seemed to figure mostly all of the profile stuff out. Only thing is now when I jump in a thread everybody's pics/sigs disappear. I'm not sure if it's a glitch due to the pic I cropped....I can just see the border of it on the left side of my screen. Weird....

Hmmm, not sure on that one. What browser are you using? Internet Explorer has been having some issues here, I know (I am using Chrome now myself, specifically because my IE was so buggy with this new forum).

Could it possibly be a screen resolution thing?

Only other thing I can think of is I know when you block someone, you can block the ability to see their signature (as well as choose to block seeing their posts or receiving PMs from them). However, I hardly think you'd have accidentally blocked the whole forum's signatures... and there's no option to block avatars. So, sorry to say, but I'm at a loss on that one. You may want to message Jesse Reid or Brian Mills. They both have been very actively trying to help work out the new forum bugs here.

I checked it out.

Thanks man.

Hmm. The rules have gotten stricter.

I don't know how the rules will be enforced, but it's encouraging stuff.

I also found a nice section about the philosophy of BSN, that explains what the intentions of the forums are.

That's good to know.

Better overall.

But the issues that are there, are glaring. And I hope Bioware doesn't ignore them or just wave them off as 'the decision has been made'.

To be fair, certain issues can be subjective to how they perceive it, compared to us, but I agree.

Well what I mean is that even if they've made decisions on things, that doesn't mean they can't make more decisions that soften the blow, after assessing options.

Eh, I miss some of the BSN, but truthfully, I didn't like the BSN that much. I was just more familiar with it. With that said, the BSN looked a bit nicer, a bit more seamless. These forums look a bit more generic, like homemade guild forums. There is nothing wrong with that, but it does lack a bit of polish that the old BSN design had.

I know I talk with some of the online team myself in response to my forum experiences.  There's always going to be a degree of assessment and examining how things are and so forth.

I miss the old, old Bioware forum. Jeez, I could find stuff there. I think I accidentally unfriended someone here. Can't find them. Can't find anybody from the old place. FFS. Sigh. The new EA, I guess: keep fixing it until it's broken....

I've been lurking for quite awhile now, but something about the change makes me want to come out of hiding. Yeah, the white background is a pain but everything else about the new site I see as an opportunity for a fresh start.

Not being able to find someone isn't that uncommon here. Seems lots of folks took advantage of the fact that you can now freely change your username here, so it's been... interesting... going through my friends list and looking at their "name tag history" to figure out who's who these days.
