I would really love to see unique hairstyles for companions. It doesn't even have to be something fancy. Add bangs here or there. Make the hair part differently. Accessories to the hair. (Like Isabella in DA2). 

 

I really hated spending so much time on creating a character, only to have a companion that has the exact same hairstyle. (In the case of DAO, Leliana had the exact same hair on my first play-through. Same color, same hairstyle. Needless to say, I left Leliana out of my party as soon as she arrived.)

 

I know I cant be the only one who was slightly frustrated by accidentally copying a companion's hairstyle.

Stan had my hair in DAO. A great thing in DA2 was that I could use the Black Emporium to change Hawke's hairstyle whenever I wanted. She ended up going through a visual evolution throughout the game with different hairstyles and makeup depending on the point in the game. Unfortunately, not everyone had the Black Emporium in DA2. I think the ability to evolve the Inquisitor, as well as change your companions' hair at any time would be cool, and certainly prevent an accidental doppelganger in your party.

I think they more or less had this policy for DA2.  The exceptions were IIRC Merrill and Carver/Bethany - the first as a legacy from her DA:O incarnation, and the siblings because they had a variety.

 

Though it's a bit annoying if it feels like the player gets stuck with all the rubbish leftovers.

 

Would it be silly to suggest that they could just give the companion a different hairstyle if the PC picks the same one?  IIRC that's what they did with portraits back in Baldur's Gate,

Really? I know I always wanted Morrigan's unique hairstyle, but I couldn't as a console player.

Having the same hair as a companion annoyed me also. However, another, greater annoyance are unique hairstyles, or other CC options that I don't have access to. Not being able to change the look of the default Hawke was supremely irritating, as was not being able to use Fenris's, Anders's, or Avaline's hair styles.

I KNOW. I loved default Fem!Hawke's look, but I wanted to change the marking on her face and her hair color. (Probably the style as well, if the desire struck me.)

 

It is frustrating not to use Fenris, Anders, Aveline, etc hair styles, but I would rather sacrifice that than to share a hair style with a companion.

I don't understand why Default Hawke had to be locked in the first place, since mods made it perfectly available.

 

I was really happy that I could edit M!Default Hawkes stubble away and give him blue eyes to resemble Carver more.

 

Also extremely happy for the editor that allowed me to change equipments look so I could use the Hawke Crest on my warriors shield:

 

Here's hoping for vanity slots in DA:I and lots of hair!

Also, Bethany did have that one unique hairstyle..

 

But thankfully Hawkey could have a similar mane of her own. I love that hair.

Dragon Age Origins used to have unique hairstyles for companions... well, one. Morrigan had her own one... then BioWare made her hair standard in DA2.

Or we could make it so that whenever you run into a companion who has your hair, you stare each other down, say "Well ONE of us has to change hairstyles" and then fight over who has to change.
