I enjoyed the redesign from Origins to DA2. Inquisition seems to have kept the same model as DA2 so I'm content.

Your thoughts?

*snip*

^notice the difference in the forehead and brow area)

yes, they are different, I know alot of people... they all seem to have different forehead and brow area... someone must have resigned them.....

Honestly considering nothing in new, and thats a pre-alpha of DA:I and its been what.. months now... it could be very different... (i just hope they change the face paint... it looks... i dunno childish to me.

There's no point to Quanari without horns.

Hmm... That's got me thinking, will our Qunari Mage Inquisitor have horns? Or will they have them cut, like the Saarebas in DA:II, maybe was that just unique to that particular character, I'm not sure... Do all Saarebas under the Qun have their horns cut?

Or perhaps is it going to be just a design choice during Character Creation.

Take this with the grandest grain of salt ever, but I think I recall a dev saying that qunari PCs would either not have horns or would have them cut(I believe the latter).

Our Qunari is not of the Qun or a "true grey". His horns will be fine unless we have the option to remove them.

Unless the Qunari mage story is different from a warrior/rogue.

I think you mean *could. Saying "would" implies that the play has no choice in the matter

No, I meant would. As in all qunari PCs would have no horns, or they'd all have cut horns. Again, thats if I'm remembering it correctly.

See, now that's got me thinking even more, because wouldn't our Mage Qunari have been born initially living under the Qun and then escaped? How are they going to go about with our Qunari's back-story, I can understand a Rogue or Warrior leaving the Qun but a mage... No chance of you just walking out. Has anything been mentioned regarding the Qunari back-story yet?

Sorry if this is slightly de-railing.

Don't worry about it. Again, I'm probably misremembering it. Like a game of telephone, except the forum version. hahaha

They have not said what our background story will be for the Qunari yet. Who know what the story will be for them.

In the Nerd Appropriate Playable Race podcast they mention that you can choose whether you want horns or not.

Love it! I don't really think it is a redesign per se, but more of an improvement of the DA 2 Qunari. The in game Qunari could not capture what the DA 2 CG looked like though it was close. This one looks more like the DA 2 CG if anything plus  better in some areas; look at the Horns!

Did they explain why qunari suddenly got horns in DA2?

They were always supposed to have them, but there was a graphic design problem getting Sten to have horns and wear a helm.

That's the real explanation.   :D

The lore explanation is that some of the ox-men like to go hornless. Sten was just one of the first ones we met.

I prefer the Star Trek explanation:

Lol not being rude but why would the pre alpha show horns on a qunari if they wouldnt be included in the game? Anyways its been confirmed we will have horns, that be such a slap in the face if we couldnt

I need to see a full-body qunari female model. It's imperative.

I may have been remembering the opposite, where someone asked if horns could be cut or if we could play a hornless qunari and it was said that they would all have horns. Again, meeeeemory

As the Qunari story becomes more intricate and complex it seems fitting that their designs would as well, so I like the tweaks.  Face paint and tattoos without some logic or story behind them irritate me, so I'm hoping the significance of different paints is touched on as the Qunari culture is explored.  If the final product allows us to choose face paint that has less distinct lines, perhaps some smearing/blending/sweat streaks I might try it out, though I suppose that could also be adjusted with the intensity slider.  If it remains... chalky in the final rendering I'll go paintless for sure.

The eyes in the pre-alpha WIP so far are pretty dull so I'm hoping the DA2 eyes are at least a choice during character creation, similar to red and black iris/sclera variations in Skyrim.

So far, so good I guess!
