I wonder if in 'DA:I' we'll be able to decide whether or not we want our Qunari Inquisitor to be hornless or not, I think that would be a pretty neat decision. I'm sure Bioware has enough consistency issues to worry about at the moment, but maybe the world of DA will react a bit different towards you depending on if your Qunari has horns or not.
Thoughts on the Qunari Redesign

It's either been implied or confirmed that we can go hornless.

Oh really, well then that's good. I think I'll definitely be going hornless, it makes them a bit more humanised and suits the tale I want to go with.

The majority of Qunari(Vashoth, tal-vashoth, oxman, what-the-hell-ever) in Dragon Age 2 seemed to have a stick up there ass, so it's refreshing to see Qunari facial designs that don't say "I will eat you". I like it, says more than "NO" for a change.

True but to be fair, every qunari in DA2 was miserable in Kirkwall. It will be nice however to see diversity in their race

Also, for me, the Qunari build in DA2 was more human than anything. Yes, they were freakishly tall with horns and a skin like no other, but still... it just looked like a stretched and skewed human to me.
The DA:I Qunari look really cool, they definitely hit the nail on the head for me (at least with Iron Bull).
I just sort of worry about the pictures they released with the face paint.

I beg to differ. It's not merely a redesign. Qunari were originally supposed to have horns in Origins, but it was taken away since they weren't sure how they were supposed to have Sten wear a helmet if he had horns. In DA2, they found a way to make it work, but rather than BioWare saying, "Ignore everything about the qunari from Origins", it's simply that there are some qunari with horns, and some without. Therefore, if they use this reasoning, I would like to see both.
I mean, in other works post-DA2, Sten's original appearance is essentially kept the same.
Let's see if I have my lore right with this or if I'm totally making things up....but The Qun and the priestesses or someone dictates which followers of the Qun mate with one another (and of course, even within Qunari society I'm sure they can't completely stop people). We don't know for certain that being born hornless/like Sten, isn't just a result of say a Kossith and Human follower of the Qun being together, or something like that. I know they have already explained that its the genetic luck of the draw, green eyes or blue etc. But perhaps there is more than one way to arrive at a similar genetic variance?

Dont hold me to this but i think i've read that the qunari do not breed outside their own race

I don't really see differences that couldn't be explained away by "these are two different people of the same species"

The lore says now (and it appears to be a somewhat recent update
) that some qunari are born without horns, it's a small but rare event, I guess maybe like a baby with six toes. As well, some Vashoth and others appear to shear their horns off, because it makes them look fierce. So they may go hornless for both reasons.

Parshaara, those eyes had better be optional- and not seen in the majority of in-game Kossith.
Else I'll believe Bioware has been on the Saar-qamek; something quite possible in these prevailing times.

Yeah but again that is because they practice selective breeding. The Tamassrans decide who breeds and with who and they never cross breed any race.
We don't know if the Qunari can breed with any of the other races or not.

Dragon Age Inquisition is using a newer and much better game engine. Things are going to look different. Get used to it.

Not sure if you can call it a redsign as those a clearly not the same person. And the difference aren't that drastic.

Plus, all qunari looked exactly the same in DAII, which wasn't too much of an eye pleaser either.
Really? I found them all very pleasing to look at.

They were also soldiers. That's all we've encountered so far, except for Tallis. I'd bet that they're different from caste to caste and more laid back around themselves. I wouldn't expect the farmers and artisans that Tallis and Sten mentioned to be as rigid and stoic as the soldier class. In fact, rigid conformity is counterintuitive to artistry.

What i think needs to be done is that the eyes need to be colored more like the DA2 Qunari, the lips need to be thinner and they need to add the other set of horns under the bigger set so that gap is filled and possibly make the nose more pronounced and less flared, then lower and widen the brow, square the jaw and chin a bit more, shorten the chin so his face isn't so long and narrow.
If not than this redesign looks like osama bin laden or some African American man with face paint and horns, but since this is a pre-alpha picture I'm sure the final version will be allot better or at least i hope, so I'm not going to stress much!

Having not read this thread, I don't think this is a redesign so much as Iron Bull, being a main character, has a unique model.
I always assume there's more racial variance than what ingame models show.

I thought they nailed it in DA2.
I'm on the fence with what looks to be the jaw construct. I liked how square they were in DA2. That face model, granted its a demo or generic preset or whatever, looks like one of the goofy ones from the NHL or WWE games.
