Isn't it so that Wynne leaves the Warden anyway if the Ashes were defiled?

Also, in Asunder it is pretty clear that she fought the Archdemon together with the Warden (considering it was her nightmare), so she stayed with him until the end.

After just completing a mage playthrough of DA 2, I don't think ANYTHING makes much sense in DA 2, particularly during act 3. I don't care what bioware decides as canon for hawke, I'm quite pleased with my current playthrough of protective brother/warrior.

I like the canon choices, but some of it doesn't make sense from an in game perspective. They need to sort that out. The Dalish boon grants the elves new territory.. and in ultimate sacrifice, Keeper Merethari is the very one that Queen Anora gives it to. Yet, in DA2, she's still acting like a wandering Dalish, all the way up in the Free Marches.

 

The game routinely ignores things seen only in the epilogue slides. See also: every single thing that could happen to Justice and Anders after Awakening.

 

I believe David Gaider sait at some point that the slides should be treated as hearsay and rumour rather than things that definitely happened, but I cannot for the life of me find such a statement through googling.

 

Nor does it make sense with an Orlesian Warden from Awakening. Lets be honest here: Who actually give a **** about the Orlesian Warden?

 

I do! I hope we hear about them again in world states where they exist.

That part wasn't an "epilogue" per se though. Well, there could've been an epilogue, but there's the fully animated funeral scene too, and Merethari talking to Anora. I forgot the lands she grants, but it was somewhere still in Ferelden. I only remember because I played a US Dalish Warden once.

 

You learn something new every day - I've never played a US Dalish Warden, so I didn't know that. Thanks for enlightening me!

 

The only place I'd ever seen the Dalish boon mentioned myself was in the slides. (My Dalish Warden went off through the Eluvian with Morrigan, so he wasn't around to check.)

Same goes with the ending of DA2. "Gone just like the Warden". "That can't be a coincidence," Leliana says, with a sense of mystery. These lines seem to be written with a more dramatic setup in mind. It makes little sense with an Ultimate Sacrifice Warden. Nor does it make sense with an Orlesian Warden from Awakening. Lets be honest here: Who actually give a **** about the Orlesian Warden?

This is one of he things I am most intrigued to have clarified in Inquisition. In addition to the missing warden quote you mention, if the warden was a Dalish elf, Merrill will mention having seen her in the market. The scene is played as though Merrill simply mistook someone for Marethari, but with the mention of the missing warden as well, I can't help but be curious.

The only real explanation I've heard is that Liliana meant the Orlesisn warden in the case of a dead Origins warden, but, as you said, who gives a **** about the Orlesian warden? That would be pretty eye-rollingly lame.

I will not pick mages or Templars in DAI as I would like to play neutral so if DAI forces us to choose the game will be rubbish.

We are not Hawke or whatever rubbish he or she picked so it is not relevant to DAI.

Why do you assume there will be another Dragon Age game after DAI?

 

I have no desire to play any more Dragon Age games with the same characters after DAI unless the new games are in a different time line with completely different characters and story.
