I don't feel confortable with this, it feels as gimmicky as having a darkspawn companion,I'd be cool with cole or another wynne/anders abomination. but we'll see how it goes.
Demon as a companion?

Shame they don't die huh?
I thought they died if you killed them while in the Fade. Since it is their home plane. Or are you just banishing them? I honestly have never been sure of that.
If it's the latter, then I'll amend my statement: The only good demon is a thoroughly banished one.

They lose their ''power level'' and are kinda reborn as weak wisps. They can regain their power again over long periods of time though, or take a different turn.

They become Wisp Wraiths for a long time, but eventually will become demons again.

As long as I had the option to kill it as soon as we meet it or at least skip recruiting it I wouldn't care. I would not want such a thing as a companion ever.

Hmm, interesting thought. Thanks for the info. ![]()
IIRC, deep in the Creation tree in DA:O, there was a wisp available as a summon. Is there a difference between a wisp wraith and the ones that can be summoned in that tree?

Wisp wraiths have more consciousness than regular wisps, which results in them having hatred towards everything.

Ah, thanks so much.
Thinking about it further, I still wouldn't want a demon anywhere near my party. However, a spirit like the Elder Tree is a different matter. He was alright and quite the bard! ![]()

I really want to interact (as in talk) with another Pride Demon. Random exploration encounter, storyline NPC, or companion, I'm not particular. That'd be great.

No more abominations. No more demons.
If one is one tough, I hope it backfires spectacularly on the player.
Like the player romances a desire demon - like in that image - and gets it to be a loyal and obedient servant.
Expect it was all a ploy, and the demon way manipulating you, playing with you all along.
And then it laughs in your face and gets back to the Fade scott free, beyond your reach.

I think it should only backfire if players intentions don't match that of the demon.

No

Well, basically no. I could only think of two exceptions which I would be okay with:
1) You can recruit a demon temporarily, but it will eventually betray you because it's in its nature. Kind of a Morinth situation, maybe, but even worse. This would actually be great, thinking about it ...
2) Yes, Cole. I think his story has not ended yet, plus it's still not completely clear what he really is. Of course, this loose ends could as well be handled in a side quest, other media, whatever ... but I wouldn't mind having him as a companion.

Don't bring Morinth into this, she never betrayed Shepard.

Nobody ever wants a spirit companion. Oh no, they have to want a demon. And then they wonder why all of a sudden the auto-dialouge goes through the roof and your castle is looking like the inside of a obese alcoholics prostate.

Ah yes, sorry, that's what I meant with "worse". Morinth just kills Shepard if he/she is too stupid to life, I know. I brought her up anyway because I imagine teaming up with a demon would work in a similiar questionable way, from a morally viewpoint ... and also a logical viewpoint.

We already had a spirit companion. His name was Justice. And I mean in Awakening when his human vessel was a corpse so it wasn't like Kristoff chimed in much.

I firmly believe that Morinth never wanted to kill Shepard. But hey I am just a stupid illogical person.

I guess people are just aching for the drama a demon brings to the table. I read that last bit as obese alcoholic apostate, and I have to say I'm not totally opposed to the concept.

Spirits are not very interested, where's demons are. I think that's why.

Okay yes, I was mostly speaking from Shepards point of view. Killing off a reliable follower in order to recruit a serial killer you literally just met? Very "for teh evulz", in my opinion. Morinths motivations are of course up for discussion, however - she is a threedimensional (if you can say that in English, too?) character after all. ![]()
Which a demon isn't, unless I really missed some important piece of lore about them.
