Okay yes, I was mostly speaking from Shepards point of view. Killing off a reliable follower in order to recruit a serial killer you literally just met? Very "for teh evulz", in my opinion. Morinths motivations are of course up for discussion, however - she is a threedimensional (if you can say that in English, too?) character after all. ;)

Yeah, that's kinda how we recruited most of our mercenary/assassin/thief/psycho/xenophobic/outlaw etc. squadmates, on the spot. And lolz would be allowing that Samara b*tch to live imo. I would be forced of course to put my morals aside and work with her for the sake of the galaxy, but when Morinth showed up I got a better squadmate, and Samara got what she deserved.

The description in the OP made me think of Ya Zhen. Was so good taking him down.

I had enough DA demon companion drama with Vengeance, thank you very much.

What do you guys think, I think it would be cool if we got a demon as a companion yes it would have to be a malevolent and would have it's own agenda but that would add a great new dynamic to the game/party.

No.  I have no desire for them to waste resources on that.

I don't know whether he is a spirit or a demon or something different ... but I would love to have Cole as companion. ^_^

Hmm... A demon companion, you say...

But seriously, I think I'm done with malevolent, demonic companions with their own agendas (I'm looking at you Anders/Justice).

That's it.  I'm getting Asunder this weekend.

Excellent choice. I hope you enjoy it as I did :).

I loved Asunder. I'd also recommend The Stolen Throne, if you haven't read it.

Hell no

Whoever wants a demon as a companion is as dumb as Merrill.

What s/he said.

I firmly believe that Morinth never wanted to kill Shepard. But hey I am just a stupid illogical person.

The face she wanted to sleep with Shepard, which means death for Shepard, counters your point.

He had his moments. Like whenever he went into the Avander State.

As long as he's not blowing up a Chantry for his own self-entitled agenda, (that we can't actually put a stop to even though we knew waaay in advance) I'll be fine with that.

And then there's the fact that, if left to his own devices, he would have killed any random innocent person who might so much as "mistake" him for being demon possessed.

That's still not demonic. He was just going crazy because to the wants of Justice. Justice wanted action immediately while Ander's was always trying to control him.

I like the idea. It reminds me of One of Many, aka: The evilest little minion an evil player could hope for. Hell, I've played Mask of The Betrayer trough several times, but only as a good character once. If Bioware could make a demon companion of some sort I would be all for it.

Now, I thought Justice was a demon, demons and spirits are essentially the same, right? Wasn't that mentioned by Merril and even by Anders himself?

I'm not hating on Anders, I actually have a soft spot for the guy, I just like picking on him, it was just essentially the writing in DA:II that let him down.

Here's a question: Why would a demon help a mortal try to restore order and stability in the world?

Shame they don't die huh?

Oh they can be destroyed their physical aspects can only be dismissed in thedas but in the fade?

They can be destroyed until they are nothing but a fragment of consciousness.

If you think a wisp is still "living" you have a strange view of life.

A demon that sustains itself by feeding on other demons due to an "acquired taste"  might be an interesting way to have an evil companion that helps the inquisition in order to feed on more demons since our job pretty much implies we'll fight a lot of demons.

just a thought ^_^

Where has there ever been a case where a demon fed on its own kind?

Also do Demons even fight each other?

Demons destroy each other all the time in the Fade.

And Demons do feed on each other.
