I didn't really notice, and I'm not a fan of DA2's style anyway, but I think it's a good idea to give genders some different stocks, which I think they didn't do with some unconvincing proportions in DA:O.

Men and women do move differently thanks to sexual dimorphism.
A lot of it is caricature of subtle differences. For instance I doubt sitting legs twine is really as much about physique as some pretend. The differences are undeniably there, but culture is undeniably a powerful force as well.
Any way adventurers are more aking to athletes than average. Efficiency requires women to suppress their natural tendencies rather than accentuating them at least for gait (although obviously not for sitting posture ala the Mass Effect examples).

Well the sitting thing is more a matter of decency while wearing a short dress. I'm sure you've seen some of the embarrassing femshep screenshots floating around in this thread wearing that party dress.A lot of it is caricature of subtle differences. I'm sure there's a way to make an attractive run/walk animation while not going down the f!hawke anim route. Watch people? Well not in public all creepy like, but you can model a few walks from real woman, and decide what you're going to do.
I really just want something neutral. Something that's not annoying/bad enough for me to pay attention to while i'm playing. That would be great.

Basically, it shouldn't catch our attention. And marketing shouldn't tell us to pay attention to it because of whatever reason.

You'd think?
Bwahahah Laidlaw said that to me, I remember.
The walk was one thing, but speed it up into a run and it was ridiculous.
